HOW WE EXPRESS OURSELVES

“Storyteller rely on their artistict talent to convey meaning of the artwork”

Lines of inquiry:

• Artwork in children’s literature


• Picturing story with illustration
• High qualities techniques in writing with illustration

Duration: 6 weeks

What I learn in this theme


• First Part
Students will create narrative writing and do the illustration. (Thinking skill)

• Second Part
Students express feeling and imagination by storytelling their own book to
others (Communication skill)

• Third Part
• Students convey messages to others and influence many people
through writing and illustrates. (Social skill)

The objectives are:


• The students are expected to be more inquirers in many ways; asking
questions, do research, read books then be active in discussion.
• The students are able to transform their feeling, imagination and creativity
by discovering new information and skill related with
objects/things/device/tools around them.
• The students are expected to reflect their knowledge into problem solving
activities at home with their own ways based on the experience and
understanding.
The activities that the students are going to do:
• Class discussions - accurate use of unit vocabulary, comment which show
understanding of unit concept, student’s reasoning for categorizations
• Illustrations – Detail which shows understanding of children’s artwork
• Think/Pair/Share – productivity, cooperation, discussions using relevant
detail, stay on topic, knee to knee, eye-to-eye
• Class Chart – Responding to Read Aloud – identify connection to their own
lives
• Oral presentation – accurate representation of topic
• Circle Time – participation, active listening, attention, appropriate
vocabulary, complete sentences, staying on topic
• Craft activities – fine motor, stay on topic, follow directions, stay on tak,
appropriate use of materials and supplies

Week 1 Intoduction to Storyteller


Students discuss about:
• Definition of storyteller
• Type of storyteller
• Difference between writer, author, and ilustrator

Week 2 - 3 Book review


Students discuss about:
• Writing composition
• Genre

Week 4 - 5 The writing process


Students discuss about:
• The steps of writing
• Write narrative writing
• Illustrate the story

Week 6 Review week


• (Students review about storyteller, writing process, and writing’s
composition)
• (Students do self-reflection about what they have done)
