Macalpi-ay National High School Celebrates Valentine's Day

with Fun-Filled Activities

By Mark Jhon O. Espina

Macalpi-ay National High School's Supreme Student Government (SSG) officers, teachers,
and students came together on February 14, 2023, to celebrate Valentine's Day with a range
of exciting activities.

The SSG officers planned an array of activities to make the day special and memorable for
everyone. These activities included Blind Dance, Dear Heart, Jail Booth, Matchy-Hearts,
Photo Booth, and Wear Your Status. Each activity was designed to spread love, joy, and
positivity and make everyone feel loved and appreciated.

The Blind Dance, where the students danced blindfolded with a partner, was a highlight of
the event. It challenged the students' trust and communication skills while providing a fun
and exciting experience. In Dear Heart, students wrote letters to their crushes or significant
others, and the SSG officers delivered them. The Jail Booth allowed students to "jail" their
friends or teachers, and they could only be "bailed out" by their other friends. The Matchy-
Hearts activity saw students matching heart-shaped pieces with their names on them. The
Photo Booth allowed everyone to take pictures with their friends and loved ones, while Wear
Your Status allowed them to wear a badge that represented their relationship status for the
day.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, the school administration ensured that safety protocols were
strictly implemented to prevent the spread of the virus. Everyone followed the safety
guidelines, such as wearing masks, social distancing, and regular hand washing, to ensure the
safety of all participants.
The Valentine's Day celebration served as a reminder of the importance of love, care, and
unity, especially during these challenging times. The school administration hopes that the
event helped everyone feel the love and warmth in their hearts and brought smiles to their
faces. The celebration was a success, and the SSG officers are already looking forward to
planning more events to make the school year more enjoyable and exciting for everyone.
