Kazakhstan’s History And Culture

Kazakhstan, located in Central Asia, has a rich
and diverse history and culture. The region that
is now Kazakhstan has been inhabited by various
nomadic tribes and settled civilizations for thou-
sands of years.

The earliest known inhabitants of Kazakh-

stan were the Scythians, a nomadic people who
roamed the area from the 9th century BC to the
4th century BC. They were followed by other no-
madic tribes, such as the Sarmatians and Huns.
In the 13th century, the Mongols, led by Genghis
Khan, conquered the region and established the
Mongol Empire.
