Manual

This is a simple manual to show you how to use SoM.

This is the main window:

On top you can see all option buttons. If there isn't enougth space to show all buttons
you can click on menu button to view all options. This button has different aspects
depend on you device or android version.
Click on help to view a short help about the buttons.

You can use 'Center map on' to introduce a coordinate where the map will be centered.
Also you can choose 'Add icon' to draw an icon on that coordinate.

You can change the map server using the option 'Map Server'
If you click on 'Settings' you can change the GPS update frecuency (before use GPS you
should enable it from Android Settings). You can choose the units to use on measurement
tool (meters or yards) and choose the character encoding that yours DBF files are using.

SHP
Here I'll show you how to load your SHP files.

First of all you should press the SHP button on main window. The next window will be shown:
You can select 'Help' to view a short description:

IMPORTANT
To view your shapefiles on the correct coordinate position it should use one of these coordinate systems:
- Geographic Coordinate System WGS84(EPSG:4326)
- All UTM Projected Coordinate System

To load your files click on 'Session/Import SHP', then use the file explorer to go
to the folder where your shp are.
If you want to load only one shapefile select it and click on 'Load file'. If you want to load all
folder don't select any file, simply click on load folder.

Then you will see your shapefiles (if any of them are not shown, be sure that the 3 files of
each shapefile (*.shp, *.dbf, *.shx) are on the same folder and with the same name).
If the name color is red, the coordinate system has not been asigned automatically.
You has to assign it to view the shapefile over the map. To assign it do a long click and select
'Set coordinate system'.
If you do a long click over one of them you will see differents options:

If you select 'Edit' you'll be able to change its color, the coordinate system, the group ...
If you click on the red box a 'Select Color' window will be shown. You can select the color,
transparency and saturation. When done, click on the center circle.

The edited changes will be saved and the next time you load those files they will be
automatically applied. Now you can select an active layer with a simple click. The active
layer will be mark with yellow.

Now, if you selected an active layer and return to the map, 3 new icons will be shown.
- The left one is used to fit the active shapefile or selected shape on window
- The second is used to search a value on dbf file
- The third is used to show/hide the icons to select a shape from the active shapefile

Using the autofit tool (left icon):


If we click on 'Search tool' icon the search window will be shown. Here we can select
the field and write the value to fin. This search tool will show partial word searches.
You can cancel a search by clicking on the window. You can use 'Prev' and 'Next' buttons to
move over results and click 'Select' to select an specific shape.
If you click on a field value you can edit it.

If you click on 'Select' the shape will be select and you can center it on map clicking on 'Autofit' tool.
If you has a selected shape a new icon will be shown. You can use it to view its dbf values.
You can also add or delete fields from here.

If you want to unselect it click on the third icon (the yellow balloon)
