M&E INSTALLATIONS

OBJECTIVE:
Measure evacuation response time and adherence to procedures.

SCENARIO:
During the fire drill, the fire alarm is activated, and occupants are required to
evacuate the building immediately. The objective is to measure how quickly people
respond to the alarm and evacuate following the designated evacuation routes.
Observers track the evacuation time and assess whether individuals adhere to the
established procedures by using the correct exits and assembling at the designated
meeting point outside.
ROLES:
Evacuation Coordinator:
Responsibilities:
 Oversee the evacuation process and ensure a smooth evacuation.
Duties:
 Activate the alarm and communicate evacuation instructions.
 Guide occupants to the nearest exits and assembly points.
 Monitor the progress of the evacuation and address any issues.

Safety Monitor:
Responsibilities:
 Ensure safety protocols are followed during the fire drill.
Duties:
 Monitor the evacuation routes and exits for any obstructions or hazards.
 Remind workers to walk calmly and not to run during the evacuation.
 Check that workers are following evacuation procedures, such as closing
doors behind them.
