Talbot Electrical Services

Glosary

1. long nose pliers

Long nose pliers for holding cables, thin parts or small components, to reach parts even in tight
places that are difficult to access. Some models also include cutting edges for cutting small gauge
wire and cable.

example

Using a long nose pliers, remove the knock-out for the chosen opening vertical on top

2. tool kits

A kit is a set of productivity tools that work together in a coherent and coordinated way.

Example

The standards provide comprehensive guidance and practical tool kits.

3. end cutting pliers

End cutting pliers are most commonly used to cut nails close to the surface of wood, or for
trimming metal wire or bolts.

Example

end cutting pliers are used to remove nails

4. diagonal cutters

Diagonal pliers (also known as wire cutters, diagonal cutting pliers, diagonal cutters, side cutters,
dikes or Nippy cutters) are pliers intended for the cutting of wire (they are generally not used to
grab or turn anything). The plane defined by the cutting edges of the jaws intersects the joint rivet
at an angle or "on a diagonal", hence the name.

Example

Diagonal Cutting pliers are often used to cut and strip wire.

5. wire strippers

A wire stripper is a small, hand-held device used to strip the electrical insulation from electric
wires.

Example

We can supply to you the cable wire strippers and technical know-how.
6. screwdrivers

screwdriver is a tool, manual or powered, used for turning screws.

Example

Wrenches are not hammers; knives are not screwdrivers.

7. flashlight

A flashlight (US, CA) or torch (UK, AU) is a portable hand-held electric lamp. Formerly, the light
source typically was a miniature incandescent light bulb, but these have been displaced by light-
emitting diodes (LEDs) since the mid-2000s

Example

I got flashlight, candles, cold shower and batteries.

8. measuring tape

A tape measure or measuring tape is a flexible ruler used to measure length or distance.

Example

The measuring tape will automatically rewind if you move the red tab sideways.
9. utility knife

A utility knife is any type of knife used for general manual work purposes.[1] Such knives were
originally fixed-blade knives with durable cutting edges suitable for rough work such as cutting
cordage, cutting/scraping hides, butchering animals, cleaning fish scales, reshaping timber, and
other tasks. Craft knives are small utility knives used as precision-oriented tools for finer, more
delicate tasks such as carving and papercutting.

Example

In addition, you can cut it with a utility knife to fit as necessary.

10. allen wrench

A hex key (also, hex wrench, Allen key and Allen wrench or Inbus) is a simple driver for bolts or
screws that have heads with internal hexagonal recesses (sockets).

Example

Adjust delicately, using gentle quarter turns with the appropriate-sized allen wrench.

11. glue gun

The glue gun is a tool that dispenses glue, which is inserted in the form of a solid rod.

Example

With fabric and glue gun in hand I forré best boxes.

12. super glue

Super Glue glues any type of material: Ceramic, plastic, wood, metal, rubber, porcelain and others.

Example
GORILLA ahdesivo super glue is the most versatile.

13. alcohol

In chemistry, an alcohol is a type of organic compound that carries at least one hydroxyl (−OH)
functional group bound to a saturated carbon atom. Alcohols range from the simple, like methanol
and ethanol, to complex, like sucrose and cholesterol. The presence of an OH group strongly
modifies the properties of hydrocarbons, conferring hydrophilic (water-loving) properties. The OH
group provides a site at which many reactions can occur.

Example

Alcohol isopropílico al 70% en agua para inyección al 30%.

14. naphtha

Naphtha (/ˈnæpθə/ or /ˈnæfθə/) is a flammable liquid hydrocarbon mixture. It is a fraction of

crude oil found under the ground.

Example

Naphtha is a petroleum derivative in between kerosene and gasoline in volatility.

15. magnet
A magnet is a material or object that produces a magnetic field. This magnetic field is invisible but
is responsible for the most notable property of a magnet: a force that pulls on other ferromagnetic
materials, such as iron, steel, nickel, cobalt, etc. and attracts or repels other magnets.

Example

A magnet is any material that has a magnetic field.

16. bench vise

The vice is a tool that serves to give an effective clamping, while agile and easy to handle, to the
pieces so that they can be used for different mechanical operations such as sawing, drilling, milling,
filing or marking.

Example

You need a sturdy bench vise to hold parts securely in position.

17.stereo microscope

The stereo, stereoscopic or dissecting microscope is an optical microscope variant designed for low
magnification observation of a sample, typically using light reflected from the surface of an object
rather than transmitted through it

Example

Once obtained the samples in the filtering membranes, this was taken to the stereo microscope for
their observation and quantification.
18. cooler spray

Freeze spray (cold spray or vapocoolant) is a type of aerosol spray product containing a liquified gas
used for rapidly cooling surfaces, in medical and industrial applications. It is usually sold in hand-
held spray cans. It may consist of various substances, which produce different temperatures,
depending on the application.

Example

GEA has a long history supplying Spray Coolers to producers of melts- oils and fats, glycerines, etc.

19. heat sink Grease

Heat sink compound (also called thermal grease, thermal compound, CPU grease, heat paste, heat
sink paste, and thermal interface material) is a sticky paste that's used as an interface between
CPU heat sinks and heat sources.

Example

New version with a more efficent heat sink.

20. Heat shrink tube

In general, heat shrink tubing is a common element in most electrical setups that insulates
electrical components from external factors such as moisture, dust, abrasion, and sharp objects
that might otherwise damage wires and electrical components. This type of damage ultimately
results in shorts and failures.

Example

A heat shrink tube divides the cable into four 2.0mm OD. fan outs, providing protections.
