Societal Problem Description


Many students face hardships while studying accountancy, which leads them to either fail or shift
courses. The difference of the first semester and 2 nd semester for first years in the BSAc course of SLU for
the school year had great problems regarding the number of students. With a starting number of 12
blocks, consisting of 40-50 students per block during the first semester, it quickly went down to only 3
blocks consisting 40-50 students who are qualified to continue the accountancy program. According to the
Professional Regulation Commission, for 2021, only 318 out of 1,454 or 21.87% of the takers of the
CPALE Exam have passed while for 2022, 1,722 out of 6,665, or only 25.83% have passed the CPALE
Exam. These statistics provide us with enough data to show that many are still having hardships in
understanding what must be understood in this course.

Brief Business Description


Our business is an application centered on helping students studying or who wish to study
accountancy by providing them with a way to further understand their lessons through an in-depth
discussion of their modules, various practice exercises along with the corresponding answer keys and
explanations for the answers, and also and online shop which provides quicker and easier access to
materials needed when studying accountancy.

Customers
Our business would cater mostly towards accounting students from the various accounting
schools in the Philippines, starting from more well-known schools, moving to even the smallest schools
that teach accountancy. Although we would be focused on local customers, we do hope on expanding
internationally, also providing aid towards students in other countries across the globe.

Value Proposition
Many students experience hardships while studying accountancy. May it be from understanding
their professor’s teaching methods, from studying all their lessons alone, or simply just finding a way to
remember everything they learn. Our application acquires its data from former graduates of accounting
schools, helping us in providing an easier way to explain the modules and lessons taught in the school
they have graduated from. Since they have graduated from that school, they may be capable of explaining
the lessons taught in ways that a student can understand.

Channels
Since our product is an application and also a website, our product can go directly to the
customer’s phones with just a few clicks. To attract customers to utilize our products, we plan on

acquiring the aid of the various schools. Collaborating with the different schools to encourage their
students to utilize our app to help them get a better understanding for their modules would be a great way
to hit our target market and show that we are reliable and effective.

Customer Relationship
Our application provides practices exercises for the students. The more practice exercises they do,
the more rewards they may get. Different difficulties are also set, and answering more practices without
error would provide them with benefits such as discounts on our online shop, points which can be
collected and redeemed to get real life rewards (redeemable rewards change every month), and many
more.

Key Resources
We would mainly need computers to process the codes required to keep the app running and
updated as much as possible for the benefit of the users. As we also intend to aid accounting students
through the help of former graduates, we would also need to interview former students and find the best
candidate to help us create an in-depth but easy to understand explanation of the modules being taught. As
coding is not an easy task, we would also need manpower and money to sustain our business.

Key Activities

Key Partners
Our key partners would be the different colleges and also various accounting firms. As stated
above, collaborating with the various colleges to endorse our product to their students while also giving
them a discount can greatly enhance our reliability and show our effectiveness to the students, making
them want to utilize our application. Having certified accountants to approve of the usage of our
application can also go a long way in convincing our target market.

Cost Structure

Revenue Stream
Most of our revenue would be coming from our subscription plan. Since our application utilizes
subscriptions to gain access, the users would need to pay at a given interval, providing us with continuous

income from the users. Other than that, we would also gain from all items being sold in our online shop
found within the application.
