Loved Derren's stuff since way back in the day of the rst TV shows. I also
grew up quite secluded and enjoyed my own company and certainly love
and value the ability to enjoy complete silence and seclusion as an adult,
something the vast majority of people seem to really struggle with, I thrive
in it. Good to know it's a 'thing' shared by others.

I remember watching Derren in his older TV series on Channel Four way
back in the year 2000. I always found his material fascinating -- I still do.

Thanks for this episode!

Over a million subs now. Congrats Stephen and the team. Looking forward
to hearing what the announcement is but I have a small idea what it could
be. Class episode as well. This podcast is one of the best, top 3 easy.

Darren Brown is such a boss. Surprised he is not more well known, he
really exposes the reality of how the mind works, and how people are so
easily manipulated…

I think Derren touches on the Continuing Bonds psychotherapeutic theory
of grief when he mentions about the lady wanting to still go through the
process of contacting the dead through him even though she knew it was a
technique. Very interesting how at times although the dead are gone, we
may still want to continue some form of psychological relationship with
them, in whatever form that may take. Beautiful stuff!

Literally caught Derren’s show 2 nights ago so this interview couldn’t have
dropped at a more perfect moment (for me personally!!) Excellent, excellent
interview - Derren is always a fascinating & unique thinker - &, just to say if
you weren’t already leaning in this direction, I can attest to the fact that his
new show IS astonishing. (And no, i don’t work for him!! Lol).

Great GREAT podcast. Thanks for the upload.

Have to say, I’ve seen you promoted around online, Steven, and this is the
rst interview I’ve watched, and you are an excellent interviewer. Brilliant.

I would also suggest reading the AA ‘Big Book’, and seeing how gratitude,
service and compassion were identi ed as the route of lasting happiness
as long ago as the 1930s.
