INTRODUCTION

Strategic planning is a process that helps an organization allocate its resources to capitalize opportunities
in the marketplace. This includes conducting a situation analysis and developing the organization’s
mission statement, objectives, value, and strategies. This also includes analyzing both external and (macro
and micro factors outside the organization) and the internal( company) environment

1.1 social environment

According to (Edith Forsuth, Shawn Grimley) social invite meant comprises of beliefs, desires, values
behavior of the market ,and consumption patterns. Includes demographic factors of the market eg age,
occupation, income, consumption patterns ,gender and ethnicity.

External environment have a large impact on strategic planning and operations therefore the organization
must demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the target market’s social preferences,
needs and wants. Organizations need to keep track of external social environment to recognize
opportunities and challenges.

2.2 technological environment

Technology can improve the accuracy of planning in management by providing managers with the data
they need to make effective decisions. Technology gatherers data from internal and external sources and
provide access to network. This creates availability of vast amounts of data on sales, stock, and
production. Integration enterprise resource planning (ERP) software improves planning by inter grating
individual computer systems around your organization. Planning the fulfillment of customer orders is
easier because an ERP system replaces a series of standalone computer systems different departments,
such as sales, administration, finance etc.Technology helps with storing vast amounts of data.

1.2 customers
satisfied customers are likely to be loyal customers and purchase more from the company, which
contributes to growth. Providing useful products and services for customers encourages sales, grows
brand reputation and loyalty to business.
For customers to find value in a product or service, it’s perceived benefits need to outweigh its cit.
customer value is important because it increase your brand’s reputation, profits and long term
success. This helps customers share their positive experience with others.

Customer feedback and suggestions can help you improve your products /services and maximize the
value of your goods and services. This also helps enhance features they enjoy and improve upon those
that aren’t receiving the desired results.

Leadership is defined as “the process only which an individual exerts influence over others by Inspiring,
motivating and directing their activities to help achieve organizational goals “( Jones, et.al, 1998:403)
Leadership affects productivity of workers in different ways :
➢ Clearly defining organizational visions
Leaders should communicate the goals and objectives of the organization, this saves time, effort
and resources.
➢ Innovation
Leaders who support and promote innovation to employees create ideation which contribute s to
organizational growth.
➢ Rewarding employee’s
For performance exceeding expectations enhance by motivating workers to do their best.
➢ Positive feedback
Helps workers identify the strengths and weaknesses and help develop performance improvement
plans to increase employee skills and ability.
➢ Effective communication
Establish a smooth operation of activities. Ensures that instructions are clearly understood.

Proper guidance ad supervision by good leadership enhance rapid growth of employee’s


productivity and profit.
