1. Stitch old shoulder pads onto both ends of fabric coat hangers to help your jackets and
dresses hang beautifully and stay in shape.

2. If flies bother you in the house, hang bunches of mint to


drive them away and make you home smell fresh.

3. To renew elastic quickly in waistband, ankles or cuffs,


just attach the new elastic to the old in the garment
with safety pin, then pull out the old elastic. The new
elastic will follow through as you pull.

4. To adjust the hem of a dress, hang the dress over another one on a hanger. You can then pin
the hem using the dress underneath as a guide.

5. Keep a small magnet in your sewing kit so you can


find lost pins or needles easily.

6. Boil orange or lemon peel and leave to stand. It


will create a fresh smell to your home.

7. Burglar-proof your door with a door
