CHAPTER 1 "A VISIT FROM MYCROFT"

Sherlock and Watson were in the sitting room of their home, when a telegram arrived from
Mycroft, the brother of Sherlock Sherlock tells Watson about his brother. He said that
Mycroft is an important man. He works for the government.

Sherlock told Watson that Mycroft wanted to talk about Arthur Cadogan in the telegram.
Then Sherlock asked Watson about Cadogan.

Watson said that he remembered reading the story in The Times, Arthur Cadogan was
twenty-seven years old. He lived with his wife Violet in Woolwich and worked at Woolwich
Arsenal for the government. On monday Cadogan was in Woolwich with his wife in the street
and disappeared. The next day at six o'clock a worker found his dead body near Aldgate
Station. Cadogan's train came from West London, but the police don't know where he got
on, because he didn't have a train ticket in his pocket, just some money, two theater tickets
and some papers

Minutes later, Mycroft arrived at the home, with Lestrade, an old friend of The Scotland Yard
detective. They said the papers in Cadogan's pocket are plans for a new British submarine -
The Bruce-Partington submarine. They are secret and must always stay safe at Woolwich
Arsenal. But of the ten papers in the Woolwich safe, only seven were found in Cadogan's
pocket. The three most important papers were not there. They also said that only two people
have the key to the safe, Sir James who went to London at three o'clock on monday
afternoon and Mr Sidney Johnson who was at home with his wife all day. So they don't know
how Cadogan took the papers and why.

So Sherlock decided to help in the interesting case.
