    1. Subject: Vane, 12th Stage Compressor Stator - Repair of


    2. Models Affected: JT8D-1, -1A, -1B, -7, -7A, -78, -9, -9A,
    -11, -15, -17, -17R
    3. Description:
    A new vane with cut outs at the trailing edge inside diameter
    and a new vane base with the vane slot moved aft are being
    provided for repair.
    4. Reason:
    To permit repair of twelfth stage compressor stator assemblies
    having damaged vanes and to minimize axial interference
    between the blade platforms and the vanes.
    5. Reference:
    Engine Manual P/N 481672, Chapter/Section 72-36-56, repair
    to follow.
    6. Interchangeability:
    Old and new parts are interchangeable in sets only.
    7. Material Information:
    Basis for following material data is per engine.
