Ancient China Or Rome?

Ancient Rome
A usual day in Ancient Rome starts off with breakfast. What is
eaten depends on the class that the person is in. For the lower
class its bread dipped in wine or water. If it isn’t dipped, then it
would most likely be topped with cheese olives or raisins. Those
that are upper class would most likely eat meat, fish, fruits,
vegetables, and bread. Honey would be used as a sweetener as
sugar was unknown at the time.
After breakfast people would go to work unless they were a
woman. Lower class men worked as craftsmen, shopkeepers, or
farmers. Upper class men worked in the military, politics, law, or
literature. After work, men would go to the bath house and wash
up. A lot of women worked at slaves and maids. Many even
worked as farm workers and some even gladiators. Although,
many women still stayed home. They would cook, clean and look
after their children.
Ancient China
Daily Life in China was quite different compared to Ancient
Rome. They would usually eat rice, noodles, millet, duck, chicken,
pork, pheasant, dog and goose. Dog is quite an odd meal now,
but it was very popular in Ancient China. They would also drink
tea. The most popular tea that they drank was green tea. A lot of
the time, tea was incorporated into many rituals as well.
The classes of different jobs in Ancient China would be the most
unlike Ancient Rome. Those who were merchants and traders
were considered lower class. Upper class was for those who
contributed to the community such as farmers, scholars, artists
and warriors. Although, most these jobs only applied to men.
Most women were not allowed to work and was forced to stay at
home. Women had to look after children and do housework.

Ancient Rome
Rome was always quite successful when it came to
war. They would claim many territories over
centuries. The reason for this was because Italy
was quite hard to attack. “There was a huge pool
of fighting men to draw upon, a disciplined and
innovative army, a centralised command and line
of supply, expert engineers, and effective
diplomacy through a network of allies.” Rome’s
allies were also quite useful as they had a lot of
armour, weapons and men that could be used to
fight.
Ancient China
In Ancient China, war usually meant for one
region to take over another. Ancient China was
quite easy to attack to the silk road, but they
had a lot of equipment to use during wars. They
had powerful horsemen along with gun powder
and different explosives. The also had quite a lot
of fire power, bows and catapults. Bow were
probably the most common weapon. It became
so useful that it became a ‘powerful component
in an army attack’.
 Justification
In my opinion, Ancient Rome is the better monarchy. Even
though is very much like Ancient China, there are many aspects
of the country which I much prefer over Ancient China, especially
if I were to theoretically live there. Ancient Rome is a much safer
place to live in as it is in the middle of Italy. It is also guarded and
has connections with other monarchies which help the Romans.
Ancient China seems too harsh as women couldn’t work
completely. Whereas in an Ancient Rome, you were at least able
to work as a slave to make a bit of money, even if it was just a bit.
Although wasn’t mentioned, the Romans were very smart and
was much more creative with architecture. They had many
buildings so old yet so well structured that they still stand today.
