TERMS OF REFERENCE

Review of Agriculture and Natural Resources Projects and Advisory for Paris Alignment
(International, 8 person months, intermittent)

Objective

ADB has set a steep cumulative climate investment target of $100 billion by 2030 since 2019,
and committed to align all its sovereign investments and 85 % of non- sovereign investments
with the Paris Agreement by July 2023. The expert(s) will provide technical guidance for ADB
project teams (both sovereign and non-sovereign investment teams) and DMC project offices in
responding to these drastic challenges through reviewing agriculture and natural resources
(ANR) pipeline projects, introducing relevant global best practices for replications, providing
technical advisory as required by project teams for increasing their climate investments and
developing innovative climate solutions that can set good standards for agribusiness industry in
the region.

Qualifications

Qualified CSA experts will have (i) doctorate degree or equivalent research experience in
climate science, agronomy, and other related areas; and (ii) 8–10 years of working experience
in CSA, climate resilience, and climate adaptation and mitigation with assignments in agriculture
and natural resources, food security or rural development projects. Working experience in Asia
and the Pacific region is highly desirable.
