Gas Liquid Separator Design

This spreadsheet helps one estimate diameter of the gas liquid separator and depicts subsequent design considerations for gas liquid separator.
First estimate the settling velocity of the liquid droplets entrailed with the gas and thereafter based on the settling velocity determine the diameter.
Input required is the gas and liquid density at operating conditions along with the volumetric flowrate of the gas / vapor stream.

Vertical Separators : Note :

Input Value
Input Std. Value
Liquid Density (ρL) at operating conditions : kg/m3 900 900.00 kg/m3 Calc. Value
Gas Density (ρG) at operating conditions : kg/m3 18.26 18.26 kg/m3
Gas / Vapor Volumetric Flowrate (Vv) : m3/s 0.02 0.02 m3/s
Gas / Vapor Outlet with Demister Pad ? No

Output
Settling Velocity of Liquid Droplets (Ut) : 0.07 m/s
Minimum Vessel Diameter (Dv) : 0.59 m

Note : The liquid level will depend on the hold up time necessary for smooth operation.
Typically 10 min hold up time for the entrained liquid flow would be allowed.
