MAXIS COMMUNICATIONS BERHAD COMPANY BACKGROUND

Maxis Communications berhad which is also registered as maxis is a mobile phone

operator in Malaysia, apart from Celcom and Digi. The company had 8 Million customers in
2006. It was developed by a businessman from the Indian community named Tan Sri
Anandha Krishnan in 1995. In the beginning he had many problems in investing his capital
for his business. Also at that time not many people used prepaid mobile phones and it was
more comfortable to use a home phone. However, technological change is always moving
forward and he has taken the opportunity to promote his product which is Hotlink. More and
more users are using mobile phones. In the end, he has achieved success with a lot of
promotions and tireless efforts. He has been named the 'Richest Man in Malaysia' with
impressive results. Now he is marketing and expanding the Maxis network to India at a huge
cost.
