Dear Ms. Pamela Wilson,

You have mentioned how to find a job for a 1st year student in order to gain
experience and earn some extra money. First of all, you may want to find jobs related to
your major so that the quality of your performance will be the best. I would highly
recommend you a few options such as lecturer assistant, English tutor and collaborator
with lingual centers. In case you want to achieve other skills besides your major. I think
you can consider working as a cashier or a customer service staff.

In the letter, you also showed your concern about when to have a job. My piece of
advice for you is to get it whenever you find yourself ready, however, a well-organized
timetable will reduce the chance of overlapping school and work assignments. For the
number of suitable hours, I want to remind you that a part-time job is flexible so make
sure you do not overwork yourself and keep up with your university’s schedule as this is
your top priority.
