1. Kết hợp quá khứ tiếp diễn & quá khứ đơn
E.g.:
• As I was heading back to my own office, I accidentally knocked
something off her desk onto the floor.
(Khi mình đang quay lại văn phòng, mình vô tình làm đổ thứ gì đó
trên bàn cô ấy xuống sàn nhà)
• I was driving to work late when my cell phone rang.
(Mình đang trên đường đi làm muộn thì điện thoại reo)

2. Kể một chuỗi sự việc bằng quá khứ đơn

E.g.:
• I took my eyes off the road and suddenly we came to a sharp
turn in the road.
> Your sentence: I listened to music and went to sleep then

3. Kết hợp quá khứ hoàn thành & quá khứ đơn
E.g:
• When we got to the cinema, the film had already started, and
the tickets had sold out.
> Your sentence: When I came back home, she had left

1. What was the worst thing that ever happened to you?
The worst thing that ever happened to me was I got allergy when I eat
seafood with my family in a trip. It’s about 4 years ago in my summer
holiday, when I and my family went on a trip to Ha Long bay. That was such
a happy trip, we swam in the sea, built the sand castle, took many photos,
poked our nose into local market and sampled local cuisine together,…
Everything was ok until the second day’s night, when we had dinner, i ate
something which made me allegic, i guessed it was seafood. Then I started
getting a temperature and being covred in little red spots. I was gotten on
bed by my brother and took medicines which my mom bought when she saw
me had an allergy. After that night, I had to rest in bed all the rest of trip.
That made me feel bored and I wished it shouldn’t have happened to me.
2. Describe a situation that made you feel embarrassed.
About 2 months ago, I had an assignment which I had to prepare slides to
represent in front of teacher and members in my class. Although I prepared
carefully, but when I stood on lecture hall, I forgot allmost everything
because of my worry. I had to see back my document to recall and that
made me feel embarrassed

3. Describe a time you were late.

One time when i was being on the way to school, my motorbike broke down
suddenly. I had to push it to motorbike repair shop near there and it took me
about 20 minutes to do so. On top of that, the sweltering heat of summer and
the hustl and bustl in the city made me feel tired and only want to come back
home. After repairing my motorbike, I ride as quickly as possible to go to
school on time but I was late and cound’t take attendance in that class
