Task 2
The developments in therapeutic science are the chief progress worldwide in the
last decades. This is a very debated status and I agree with this, that these leaps
have revolutionized the world.
In modern days, with the development of technology, medical discoveries have
improved our life. Scientists have found an important technique for a superior life,
a good example could be the invention of some drugs like antibiotics or vaccines. It
is obvious that if these vaccines never had been devised many people have still died
because of many maladies. The list of good medical findings is very long,
pacemakers for heart attack or endoscopy is very useful for doctors, and a non-
invasive procedure for the patients, supersonic and radiology is very important for a
precise diagnosis. Nonetheless, many people at the beginning of discovery were at
some point reserved or susceptible but were accepted in the end by everyone. For
instance, as some new vaccines are initially used, some of us are afraid of negative
effects.
On the other hand, people have the right to choose, if they do not accept or want to
use the benefits of these findings, they can refuse a vaccine for example. The
government should not impose this kind of procedure if people do not believe in
them. Many people who embrace an ideology or a religion refuse to be treated or
vaccinated or do not accept a blood transfusion. We have to accept that and respect
their perception.
In short, I believe that medical discovery improved our way of living and saved
many lives and I hope that these improvements will continue to have a high quality
of life.
Task 1

The bar chart illustrates the average Australian water use in 6 selected cities for last
year, while the pie chart describes the share of water each industry consumed in
2014. In general view, the city of Perth and the agricultural industry had a major
impact on the usage of Australian water.

As can be seen from the graph Perth had the highest average water use for last year
with 300 kilolitres per property, followed by Adelaide and Brisbane with 240 and
250 kilolitres per property respectively. On the other hand, Melbourne and
Canberra showed the lowest average water consumption of 150 and 140 kilolitres
respectively.

When it comes to the distribution of water use by industries, we can clearly see that
agriculture took over two thirds of the entire consumption 67%, followed by
households 9%. Water supply, sewage and drainage industry consumed the same
amount of water as the electricity sector, 7%. In the same way there was no
difference between the consumption of Manufacturing and other industries, with
both sectors using 4% of the national water supply. The smallest user was the
Mining industry, accounting for just 2% of Australian water use.
