The percentage of access to modern technology in the United Kingdom as shown in the

graphs provided gave us the picture where percentage rose over the years. Name it Internet
Access, Mobile Phone, Home Computer, or CD Player. It is shown where in 1996/1997 the
usage of modern technologies in United Kingdom homes relatively low as below 20 percent
for Mobile Phone usage. Data for internet access only appears as of 1998 as it was the year
where internet access starts booming.

As the year goes by, it is shown in the graphs that modern technology usage in houses in
The United Kingdom gradually rose. Mobile Phone which is on 20 percent rose to around 70
percent, Home Computer starts off at around 30 percent rose to around 50 percent, CD
Players are on 60 percent in 1996/1997 and are on around 90 percent as of 2002/2003.
Internet access which the trend only started on 1998/1999 have rose from 20 percent to
around 50 percent by 2002/2003, almost surpassing Home Computer’s percentage.

The growth of electronic usage in homes are similar in most European countries such as
Germany or France as the European Union has the same demand and standard of living.
