extremely slow magnetic field -half Earth’s size

. VENUS MARS

2. The nearer the planet from the sun,the higher is its temperature and chemicals would
easily evaporate; Thre farther the planet from the Sun, the lower is its temperature and
chemicals would freeze.
3. When a planet like earth is closer to the sun the heat of the sunlight warms the surface
of the planet hence,a planet like Neptune is far away from sun, the sunlight can't reach
the planet and it's surface becomes cold so,the distance of the sun and planet is the
main factor effecting the temperature.
4. Shelter (place to live)

Life cannot exist without a place to live. If Earth is not habitable for life, then it is useless
to put life on Earth. We have to make our planet first habitable before the existence of
life.

ACTIVITY 2: CRASH LANDING

1. Planet 4 is the best choice for me because it is fairly cold, but has oxygen present on the
atmosphere, indicating that it may have life already in residence. It has ozone, and
therefore offersprotection from UV radiation. Good for extremophiles also due to
presence of tectonic activity which allows for the possibility that hydrothermal vents
exist on the planets.
2. The other planets have no limited factors present to support life. Planet 2 is too small to
maintain much of an atmosphere, but it’s fit to live in. Planet 3 has ice and it can be a
water supply but volcanic island chains make up most of the dry land. Moons of planet 5
and 7 are for extremophiles also.
3. Yes, planet 4 has active volcanoes and seismicactivities, presence of N, o2, ozone layers
and the presence of water.

ACTIVITY 3: MY HOME, YOUR HOME, OUR HOME FOR LIFE

Option C. Make a research on the present condition (good and/or bad) of planet
Earth focusing on its characteristics to support life. Mention also its effect/s to
living things. Present your output using power Point having a minimum of 5
slides and maximum of 10 slides. Ask your teacher further instructions on
how to send the soft copy of your research.

REFLECTION/COMMITMENT:
My Pledge in Nurturing and Protecting Mother Earth
Earth is a beautiful living planet in the Universe and the common habitat of more than 7
billion human population and millions of species of biodiversity. Our Earth provides us with
food, shelter and most of our requirements.
Despite unavoidable free services provided by the earth to humans, we are not able to
pay off her kindness to us. Rather we humans are being cruel to our Earth with our selfish
activities. Mahatma Gandhi said, “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not
every man’s greed.” As a youth & global citizen, we must be aware of our nature and reduce
our own carbon footprint via eco-friendly activities. We should advocate tree planting and
proper disposal in that way we can lessen and we can preserve it in the next generation. If
implemented, these are more than enough to safeguard our environment, making our country
clean and green. Maybe our single efforts may seem small but if thousands of youths can unite
together towards nature conservation then one day our efforts will be a drastic step to protect
our motherland Earth from destruction.
Raise for sustainability strives to create a sustainable tomorrow. Through a variety of
techniques and approaches; We inspire, challenge and motivate young people to act locally in
favor of sustainable development.
