HEAT AND Temperature

 Heat is the form of energy which stimulates our sense of organ so that we feel hot or cold.
The direction of heat energy transfer always takes place from warmer
object to the neighboring cooler object.

Heat is caused due to change in internal energy of the body.

Internal energy
Molecular K.E – Due to the random motions of molecules.
Molecular K.E- Due to force that acts between atoms or molecules.
The SI unit of heat is Joule and CGS unit is calorie.

 Temperature- The degree of hotness or coldness of a body is called temperature.

If the system is in thermal equilibrium the common property of the system can be represented by a
single numerical value called the temperature. It means that if the two systems are in thermal
equilibrium, they are at same temperature.
