Chernocke House

Dear Mr. Shah and Mrs. Attique,

Interviews for entry to Chernocke House in September 2022 will begin next term and I am
writing in the hope that Tuesday 4th February at 9.45am might be a convenient date on
which to see Syed.

It may be helpful to remind you of the format of the interview so that your son has an idea of
what to expect. It will take about 45 minutes and essentially falls into two parts: a 10 minute
Maths test and a discussion with myself on a variety of topics. The school will also be asking
for a reference from Syed’s current head teacher.

I am afraid that the interview calendar is fairly prolonged and it will not be possible for me to
give you a firm indication on the outcome until April. This is partly because the Headmaster
has to ratify the Housemaster’s selection, but also because it would be unfair on younger boys
who are interviewed towards the end of the cycle.

If you would like to come to Chernocke House on 4 th February I will look forward to seeing
you: please do not arrive before your appointed time as I may be teaching just before your
son’s interview and I would not want to keep you waiting. Would you kindly confirm your
