The place where we are most likely to witness plastic pollution in relation to the ocean is the beaches.
Of course, we often envision beaches as we see them in movies and TV shows, with endless stretches of
sand and beachgoers. Despite the increasing number of volunteers who dedicate their time to cleaning up
the beaches, waves and tides continue to bring in more waste. Another issue is that some plastics and other
pollutants can be carried away by the sand, burying them and making them invisible to beach visitors.
