1. TRAINING GUIDELINES (NEW STAFF AND


STAFF ON ANY RECUURENT TRAINING)

1.1 ATTIRE

• Formal shirts to be worn (plain, small checks, solid, pastel shades)


with minimalistic patterns,
• Formal straight fit trouser to be worn (plain, checks, solid shades)
without tapered bottoms, low waists, bell bottoms, ankle length
patterns.
• Formal tie is mandatory (plain, solid and pastel colors)
• Socks to match the trouser
• Belt should match the shoe

TO AVOID:

• Clothes – athleisure wear, leather jackets, jeans.


• Wearing cardigans in cotton, wool or other materials instead of a
formal jacket.
• Pullovers worn without a jacket or around the waist or shoulders.
• Rolled up sleeves at any time.

1.2 SHOES:

• Shoes must be classic oxford shoe in black, brown or tan colors.


• Chukka, Chelsea boots, bucks, loafers are not permitted. Shoes must be in
pristine condition, polished regularly, sneakers, open footwear, sandals, or
any casual footwear

TO AVOID:
• Shoes with attention grabbing details – studs, rhinestones, beading,
large buckles, zippers, etc.

1.3 ACCESSORIES, HYGIENE AND HAIR


• Minimal accessories to be used
• Silver or Silver colored metal rings can be worn as an option.
• A watch is a must . Wearing a watch is a mandate.
• Belt must be a formal belt with a basic buckle detail (uniform belt to be
not worn with formal attire)
• Nails to be neatly trimmed and filed
• Hair must be neatly trimmed and styled, using a gel/cream/wax.
• Hair must not fall on the forehead

2. UNIFORM GUIDELINES

2.1 SHIRT
• Shirt to be clean/ stain free and ironed
before each shift.
• Ensure that the collar is dirt & stain free.
• Please change the shirt daily to avoid sweat
odor.
• Advisable to carry an extra shirt if you are
working at the RAMP or during monsoon season.
• It is mandatory to wear a vest underneath.
• Shirt should be buttoned up at all times
• Sleeves not to be rolled up.
• Shirt to be neatly tucked in & should not
be hanging loose from the waist.
• Name badge must always be displayed.
• The pocket buttons should always be closed.

2.2 TROUSER:

• Must always be well ironed & stain free.


• Should fall ½ inch on the shoe.
• Ensure crease is well formed &
there are no multiple creases.
• Pockets must not be overfilled.

• The original hem line (American fold) to be


maintained while altering the length.
• Trouser should fit well around the mid waist.
• Trouser should not be tapered (narrow bottom)
In case of alteration.

Washing Instructions

Must be washed in cold water only (Mild


detergent Ezee or Gentel to be used).
No bleaching agents should be used.

TO DRY
o Shirt to be hung on a hanger as it will be easy to iron.
o Dry it in shade and never in the sun as it protects it from the dust & discoloration.

TO IRON
o Low iron setting to avoid ironing marks.
o Ensure to straighten the pockets before ironing to avoid the pocket impressions on
the trouser.

2.3 ACCESSORIES

2.3.1. BELT
• Must always be worn with IndiGo logo on
the upper left corner.
• Only uniform issued belt to be worn.
• Must be kept clean and the leather must not
be worn out

2.3.2. SOCKS
• Mandatory to wear plain navy blue socks to
match the trouser color.
• Socks should be above the ankle.

2.3.3. SHOES
• An oxford shoe of the plain type with lace
to be worn when in the terminal building.
• Must be polished & well maintained.
• Must carry a shoe shiner

• Ramp safety shoes to be worn ONLY at the ramp.

2.3.4 NAME BADGE


• Essential to wear.
• Badge to be placed on the eyelet provided on the shirt.
• Must be worn on the sweater, winter/ramp jacket & always with the
uniform.

2.3.5. COMPANY ID
• Must be worn with the AEP (airport entry pass) under the collar.
• Must always be worn around while on duty.
• Only IndiGo lanyards to be worn along with the IndiGo provided id card
holder.

2.3.6 RAMP JACKET

• Should be clean & not torn.


• Mandatory to wear a name badge on the ramp jacket.

2.3.7 WINTER JACKET AND SWEATER:

• Must be clean & dirt free.


• To be worn according to the respective airport climatic conditions with the
approval of the airport managers.
• Can be washed with liquid detergent “Easy or Gentel”.
• Dry it in shade and never in the sun as it protects it from the dust &
discoloration.
• The collar to be clean whenever the jacket is worn.

2.3.8 TIE

• Essential to wear.
• Uniform issue only.
• Only single knot.
• Should touch the belt buckle or just below the buckle & the smaller blade
should not be longer then the main blade.
• Collar button to be closed.
• Must be dry cleaned only.
• Staff at airside are not to wear a tie.

Accessory:
2.3.9 RINGS:
• One in each hand, moderate in size & design. (optional)
• It should be a silver / diamond / solitaire ring with
width not more than ½ cm. Designs or patterns
should not be bigger than the width of the band
• Size of the stone should not be more than 1 carat.
• Coloured gemstone / religious rings, including pearl ring
is not allowed.

2.3.10 WATCH:

• Mandatory to be worn on duty.


• Strap may be BLACK/BROWN/ .
• Diameter of the dial should not be more than 2 inches.
• Smart watches/ digital watches are allowed provided
they are not bulky and dial is max. 2 inch. Fit bit bands are allowed.

2.3.11 BRACELET/KADA:

• Dangling bracelets are not allowed.


• Kada is permitted for the staff, but should not be fancy.
• The width should not exceed more than 0.5cms
• Silver metal color will be permitted.

2.3.12 SUN GLASSES:

• Sunglasses are allowed only at the ramp.


• Only aviators and wayfarers with grey or black lens
are permitted with the uniform.
• The frame should be BLACK/ /NAVY BLUE.

2.3.13 CONTACT LENS/EYE GLASSES:

• If contact lens is required to be worn, they must be of wearer’s natural eye


color.
• Staff are permitted to wear powered eye glasses
• Spectacle frames should be conservative in design, style and color.
• Round, square & oval shapes in medium size is acceptable.

Any kind of gold accessories are not allowed. Only silver metal (or
white gold / platinum) to be worn with the uniform

2.3.14 PERSONAL HYGIENE

1. FACE
Shaving

• Maintain a clean shaven look at all times while on duty. Only Sikhs (in
turban) may keep a neatly maintained beard.
• Use a moisturizer after shaving.
• Moustache to be only till upper lip line and not to be rolled up.
• Tilak vermillion is not allowed.

2. ORAL CARE

• Avoid eating ginger, garlic and onions on duty as they produce bad breath.
• Use a mouth freshener.

Unacceptable to chew bettlenut/chewing gum while in uniform


at all times

3. HANDS
Nails

• Trimmed, clean and dirt free. Nail length to be specified here

No ink, carbon or nicotine stains on the nail

4. FRAGNANCE:

• Apply anti per spirant deodorant/ Mist spray on the skin before you get
dressed, right after your daily bath or shower.

• Be careful when putting on dark clothes, as creamy or solid deodorant


tends to leave traces on the fabric.
• Choose a light and fresh fragrance: vaporize it on the pulse point and not
on the clothes, as it can stain.
• Always keep either a deodorant or a perfume handy for replenishment.

2.3.15 HAIR

• Hair should always look neat, clean and well styled.


• Choose a shampoo and conditioner to suit your hair type.
• Keep it Dandruff free.
• Back combing and side parting are the permitted styles.
• Length of side burns should not exceed mid ear, and shouldn’t exceed .5
cms by width.
• Hair must not fall forward into the face and no long hair or pony tails
allowed.

Spiky/oily hair is not allowed. Crewcut is not allowed. Turbans should be


Blue color and fifty Navy Blue. Only wearing Patka is not allowed.

2.3.16 MISCELLANEOUS

• Take care of your smile☺.


• Visit a dentist once every two months.
• Use mouth freshener /spray especially during long hours of duty.
• Refrain from consuming strongly flavored foods when in uniform.
• Refrain from the usage of mobile phones in view of customers. Mobile
must not be carried in the pockets
• Refrain from the usage of ear phones, headsets and air pods in view of
passengers.
• No body piercing or visible tattoo is allowed.
• Earrings are not permitted.
• Braces and invisiligners are not permitted.

3. UNIFORM ENTITLEMENT

3.1 REISSUE OF UNIFORM /ACCESSORIES


• An automated e-mail will be sent by the procurement team to the staff
informing them to fill in their respective sizes on the uniform
portal.(https://my6eworld.goindigo.in/links/uniform)
• Select the size on the portal and submit your measurements.
• Staff are required to make a note of the order id and provide it at the
respective warehouses.
• Uniforms/ accessory as per the entitlements will be provided from the Base
station warehouse.

3.2. UNIFORM PURCHASE

• Staff can also purchase a uniform item through the uniform portal.

• The amount for the uniform item purchased will be deducted from the staffs’
salary.
