Dear Andrew,

How have you been lately? It has been a very long time since we have last seen each
other. Has it been five years already? Time does fly. I hope that your wife has been enjoying her
new job as a first grade teacher. Wow, how exciting and stressful that must be!

I have been doing well. I also just got a new job; I am working at the local flower shop. It
Body
has been a lot of fun arranging flowers and being creative. Even though I have to get up very early
in the morning, it is nice to get off so early and have the rest of the day to enjoy.

I will see you in just a couple of weeks! My flight should arrive at 9:20 a.m. Thank you
again for picking me up at the airport. Take care!

Sincerely, Closing

Dear Mrs. Smith,

This is Max. I am writing to you because I wanted to say that I miss our class. I can’t believe we
won’t be in school again this year! At first I was excited. But, now I feel sort of sad. I did not think I
would miss school so much.

I am doing good at home. I get to sleep in and I don’t miss the bus. I am doing math every day. It
is fun because I can work at my own pace. I don’t like to do reading. My dad sets a timer.
Reading is boring at home.

I hope you will email me back. I am excited to hear from you. I hope you are doing okay. I will
stop by to see you next year when we go back to school.

Sincerely,
Max Gregory

Dear Mrs. Smith,

Hi Mrs. Smith. This is Max. I hope you are doing well. I wonder what your day looks like now that
we are not in school. I am doing okay at home. There are a lot of things that I miss about school
and our class.

I miss playing our Friday spelling game. It was so fun to challenge each other with our words every
Friday. I remember that time Sheena won 4 weeks in a row. We called her the spelling ninja.

I wish we still had recess. It was so fun to play football with my friends every day. At home I go
outside, but I don’t get to play with my friends. My dad says I have to go outside to get my energy
out, whatever that means.

I really can’t wait until school starts again so I can say hello to Mr. Jacob. I miss when he came
into our room to tell jokes while he emptied our garbage cans. I will never forget when we spilled
all the red glitter on the floor and Mr. Jacob had to clean it up. I wonder what he is doing now that
school is closed?

What do you miss about school Mrs. Smith? Email me back and let me know. I have to go now so
that I can finish my reading.

Sincerely,
Max

Dear Mrs. Smith,

Hi Mrs. Smith. This is Max. I hope you are having a good day. My day has been pretty good. I
still miss our class. It is easier to ask you a question when we are in school.

I have a question about our science lesson from yesterday. In the text it said that Pluto is not a
planet. I thought Pluto was a planet? Do you know the answer?

I tried to answer my own question by looking on the internet but I couldn’t really tell. I know you
probably know so I wanted to ask.

I had one other question for math. If we finish our assignments for the week on Tuesday can we
turn them in early? I don’t want to have anything go missing so I thought I would ask.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Sincerely,
Max
Thank You Letters Sample
Dear Mrs. Smith,

Hi Mrs. Smith. This is Max. I hope you are having a good day. I wanted to send you an email to
say thank you for all you are doing to help me and my friends at home with our schoolwork.

Thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions. I liked learning the shortcut to solving
long division. It made my schoolwork today much easier.

I also wanted to thank you for setting up our class meetings online. I am so happy that we can at
least meet for a little bit on the computer. It’s not the same as being in class, but it is better than
nothing!

I can tell you wish we were in school too. I miss being able to just walk to your desk when I need
help. I bet you miss being able to help us all right away too.

Anyways, thanks again for being my teacher!

Sincerely,
Max
