LITERATURE SURVEY
Health service quality development, clinical error reduction, and resource integration are
some of the major aims of Healthcare. Remote monitoring through communication devices
looks to be a viable option for improving patient-provider communication. Mobile health
apps were investigated for their impact on primary healthcare professionals’ patient care in
the present research.
This paper demonstrates a mobile application based health care tool that can be a friend like
company for the masses. Using the app they can find many conveniences that can change the
way people react in emergency situations.
In this paper, we started looking at the inter section between mobile apps and healthcare
mechanisms, by analysing what the users of healthcare apps ask in their user reviews and
whether they do that differently from non-healthcare user.
Mobile health applications are being increasingly used for people’s health management. The
different uses of mobile health applications lead to different health outcomes. Active usage of
mobile health applications is to be linked to the effectiveness of mobile health services.
To summarize, Mobile apps have become inevitable part of human life style. And with
devices getting smarter and more devices coming up in IoT segment, the mobile app market
is poised to grow at rapid pace.
Paper 7: Jang, J.; Colletti, A.; Ricklefs, C.; Snyder, H.; Kardonsky, K.; Duggan, 2020
The development of e-Health mobile application using cloud environment has proved to be
very useful in monitoring and managing patient’s clinical data. The security of patient’s data
using e- Health mobile application is an important area of concern.
This research paper presented Chidroid, an innovative mobile Android application for
collecting and distributing logs from smart healthcare and IoMT devices. With this cutting-
edge tool, healthcare professionals and IT administrators can easily gather critical log data
from a wide range of medical devices.
The use of mobile applications for healthcare has become a focal point of innovation that
could aid patients in their everyday healthcare management. This paper presents model of an
interactive mobile healthcare application that facilitates the needs between doctors and
patients.
Advanced mobile communications and portable computation are now combined in handheld
devices called “smartphones”, which are also capable of running third-party software. The
number of smartphone users is growing rapidly, including among healthcare professionals.
The purpose of this study was to classify smartphone-based healthcare technologies.
CHAPTER 3
SYSTEM REQUIREMENT SPECIFCATIONS
System requirements are intended to communicate in a precise way, the functions that the
system must provide. To reduce ambiguity, they may be written in a structured form of
natural language supplemented by tables and system models.
Functional requirements deal with what the system should do or provide for users. The
system should give option for entering their choices. The system shall provide insertion of
message in the form of a number or a string (in case of palindrome) as an input and system
should provide the desired output.
Non-functional requirements define the overall qualities or attributes of the resulting system.
The system should be easy to operate and should be such that it can be developed within a
short period and fit in the limited budget of the use.
The level of accuracy in the proposed system will be higher. All operation would be
done correctly and it ensures that whatever information is coming from the center is secured.
Reliability of the proposed system will be high due to the above stated Reasons. The
Reason for the increased reliability of the system is that now there would be proper storage
and access to information.
For our mobile application development we used android studio. Further we will discuss
below.
Android Studio
This includes a visual editor that allows developers to create and modify the user
interface of their Android apps using drag-and-drop functionality. It supports both XML-
based layout files. Also comes with a powerful code editor with features like code
completion, syntax highlighting, and refactoring capabilities. It supports multiple
programming languages, including Java and Kotlin, which are the primary languages for
Android app development.
XML
XML stands for Extensible Markup Language and is a markup language used in Android
application development to define the user interface layout and other resources of an Android
app. XML is a human-readable and self-descriptive language that is used to structure and
store data in a hierarchical format.
Android uses XML files to define the layout and structure of the user interface
components in an app. These XML files are typically stored in the res/layout directory of an
Android project. Developers can use a variety of XML elements and attributes to define the
placement, appearance, and behavior of UI elements such as buttons, text views, image
views, and more.
XML files are used to define and store string resources in Android apps. Instead of
hard-coding strings directly into the code, developers can define them in XML files located in
the res/values directory. This allows for easy localization and internationalization of the app
by providing separate XML files for different languages or regions.
CHAPTER 4
SYSTEM ANALYSIS
A protocol architecture, the modules are arranged in a vertical stack, each layer in the stack
performs a related subset of the functions. It relies on the next lower layer to perform more
primitive functions. It provides services to the next higher layer.
CHAPTER 5
SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION
• LOGIN/REGISTER PAGE : The new user can create an account by providing user name,
email and password and the user who already have an account can login to the app by
providing user name and password.
• HOME WINDOW: This is a home page where user can select their operation of their
choice.
• LAB TEST : Here user can book a lab for various testing by providing the date and time.
• FIND DOCTOR : Here the user can book the Doctor appointment by providing the date
and time.
• HEALTH ARTICLES : Here the user can see various health related articles .
• ORDER DETAILS : Here the users can see the bookings of the lab he/she made.
The system is specified on android operating system only because the market share of
Android is high. Android also comes with an application development framework, which
provides an API for application development and includes services for building Graphical
User Interface applications, data access, and other component types. The framework is
designed to simplify the reuse and integration of components.
Android apps are built using a mandatory XML manifest file. The manifest file values
are bound to the application at compile time. This file provides essential information to an
Android platform for managing the life cycle of an application.
Once the app has been successfully installed it will direct us to the home page where
the user can select the operations among Lab test, Find doctor, Health articles, Order details,
Medicines.
