1-7. Notes on Replacing Parts and Board
AC power adaptor
Adjustment values of the camera are written to the VC-1046 board in this unit.
For this reason, when the VC-1046 board is replaced, activate the Adjust Manual from the Adjust Station.
Then adjust the camera according to the Adjust Manual and write adjustment values.
Furthermore, write the following data because model-specific information is not recorded in the repairing
board.
• Destination data
• USB serial number and product ID
In addition to data write, perform the following after the VC-1046 board is replaced.
• Updating the MAC address
• Upgrading the firmware
Destination Data
The destination data stored in the board for repair is different from the destination setting stored in the
board before replacement in some cases.
Destination must be set on the replacement board after installation.
Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute “Destination data write” on the ADJUST tab.
The unit is shipped after an ID (USB Serial No.) unique to each unit and an ID (Product ID) unique to
each model have been written.
These IDs have not been written in a brand-new board. Therefore, after the board has been replaced, be
sure to write these IDs to a brand-new board.
• When ID is readable
When the unit before repair can be turned on and ID adjustment values can be read using the Adjust
Manual, perform the following work.
25
Work:
1. Execute [Read and Save] of “RESTORE DATA” in the DATA tab.
2. After replacement with the repair VC-1046 board, execute [LOAD and WRITE] of “PRODUCT
ID & USB SERIAL No. INPUT” in the ADJUST tab of the Adjust Manual to write extracted data
to the unit.
• When ID is unreadable
When ID adjustment values cannot be read, perform the following work.
Work:
After replacement with the repair VC-1046 board, start the Adjust Manual from the Adjust Station
and execute “PRODUCT ID & USB SERIAL No. INPUT” to enter ID.
When a board that contains Wi-Fi has been replaced or when replacing a board that contains the main IC
(CPU) has been replaced, the MAC address must be reloaded.
Note
Perform the following operations after all work has been done.
1. Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute “Wireless LAN Setting (MAC Address)”
on the ADJUST tab.
2. Perform “Network Reset” on the Network menu of the unit.
Note
After the replacement and repair, as the board has a new MAC address, ask the customer to configure the
devices connected to the unit again.
Accordingly, download the Flyer of WLAN Reset (Flyer of WLAN Reset_9834752[][].pdf) and print out
it, and attach it to the unit when returning the unit to customer.
Firmware Update
When the CK-1027 board is replaced, the MAC address must be updated.
Update the MAC address according to “Update of MAC Address” in “1-7-2. Notes for Replacing the
VC-1046 Board”.
26
1-7-4. Notes for Replacing the CR-1006 Board
Adjustment values for each LCD element are written on the PD-1066 board of this unit.
Therefore, when the LCD or the PD-1066 board is replaced, start the Adjust Manual from the Adjust
Station. Then adjust the LCD according to the Adjust Manual and write adjustment values.
1-7-6. Notes for Replacing the Front Block (Including IMGR and FIX-5000)
Load data from the CD ROM supplied with the front block to PC. Activate the Adjust Manual from the
Adjust Station, and then write the loaded data to the unit using “Imager DRA Data Write” on the ADJUST
tab of the Adjust Manual.
Then adjust the camera according to the Adjust Manual.
27
1-8. Tools and Fixtures
28
1-9. Circuit Protection Parts
This unit is equipped with positive-characteristic thermistors (power thermistors) as circuit protection
elements.
The positive-characteristic thermistor limits the electric current flowing through the circuit as the internal
resistance increases when an excessive current flows or when the ambient temperature increases.
If the positive-characteristic thermistor works, turn off the main power of the unit and inspect the internal
circuit of the unit. After the cause of the fault is eliminated and the positive-characteristic thermistor is
cooled down, turn on the main power again. The unit works normally. It takes about one minute to cool
down the positive-characteristic thermistor after the main power is turned off.
1-9-2. Fuses
WARNING
Fuses are essential parts for safe operation. Be sure to use the parts specified in this manual. Replacing a
fuse with an unspecified one may cause fire or electric shock.
The unit is equipped with fuses. The fuses blow if overcurrent flows in the unit due to an abnormality. In
that case, turn off the main power of the unit once, inspect inside of the unit, and then remove the cause of
the overcurrent. After that, replace the defective parts.
29
1-10. Electrical Adjustment
For adjusting this unit, the Adjust Station and the Adjust Manual are required.
• Adjust Station
It is the software to start up Adjust Manual for each model.
For details, refer to Installation manual supplied with the installer for the Adjust Station.
• Adjust Manual
It is the software to adjust and check digital cameras and camcorders for service.
For details, refer to Installation manual supplied with the installer for the Adjust Manual.
Note
Be sure to install Adjust Station first.
30
1-11. Cables to Handle with Care
Note
• Be very careful not to fold flexible flat cables and flexible board. Life of flexible flat cable and
flexible board will be significantly shorted if they are folded.
• Each flexible flat cable and flexible board has conductive side and insulated side. If the flexible flat
cable and flexible board are connected in the wrong orientation of the conductive side and the
insulated side, the circuit will not function.
• Check that the conductive side of the flexible flat cable and flexible board are free from dirt or dust.
• Securely insert the flexible flat cable and flexible board into the deep end of the connector.

The surface of the ND unit Back surface of the optical filter block
facing toward the optical filter
Note
• When replacing the optical filter block, removing the protective film of a new optical filter, dew
condensation may be generated or dust in the air may adhere depending on the ambient temperature
and humidity. If dew condensation or dust is found, clean the optical filter using the following
procedure.
• Perform the cleaning in the simple cleaning bench. Wear rubber gloves during the cleaning.
• The thin ND filter is low in strength. Do not apply a strong force to it when removing the dust or dirt
to clean it.
