1. Flaxen - made of flax


2. Reverence - a feeling of profound respect for someone or something
3. Indiscretion - the trait of lacking good judgment or tact

6. Obstinacy - the quality or state of being obstinate : stubbornness
7. Notched - a small cut that is shaped like a V and that is made on an edge or
a surface
8. Rivet - a special kind of metal bolt or pin that is used to hold pieces of metal
together
9. Partridge - a brown bird with a round body and short tail that is often
hunted for food and sport
10. Bestowed - to give as a gift or honor
11. Lest - for fear that—used when you are saying something in order to
prevent something from happening
12. Doted - to be lavish or excessive in one's attention, fondness, or affection
13. Wily - full of clever tricks
14. Valor - courage or bravery
15. Pursuit - the act of pursuing
16. Upbraided - to speak in an angry or critical way to (someone who has done
