Status

The table 4 above shows that the educational attainment had a computed r-

value of 5. 04 and critical value of .99 which reveals that was not significant. The

economic status had a computed r - value of 11. 97 and critical value of 74 which leads

also to verbal interpretation of not significant.

This is contradicted to the study of Farooq, et. al 2018 concluded that students

whose parents are educated score higher on standardized tests than those whose

parents were not educated. Educated parents can better communicate with their

children regarding school work, activities and the information being taught at school.

They can better assist their children in their work and participate at school and Memon,

et. al. 2015 stated that wealth of family is of paramount importance if the family is

wealthy, children’s needs whether academic or otherwise will be met easily without

much stress but where the family poor , the academic need of the children will be met

easily, this goes a long way to affect child performance negatively.

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary and conclusions derived in the conduct of the

study which is to prove on the Demographic Profile of Parent: Its effects the Academic

Performance of the students at Lumban Senior High School. It also provides

recommendations that can be pursued by the teachers.

The study was conducted at Lumban Senior High School. The respondents were

selected grade 11 and grade 12 from all of the sections. They were selected using

purposive sampling .It employed quantitative research and utilized was experimental .

The statistical used are frequency and chi – square.

Summary of Findings

The purpose of the study is to determine the Effects of Demographic Profile of

Parents in Academic Performance of the students at Lumban Senior High School.

From the data gathered and treated data, the results that was yielded by the

study are as follows: Based on the findings, the research question 1 reveals that the

majority of the results in educational attainment were 26 in High School graduates,

while the majority of the results in economic status were 36 out of a total of 57. Then,

the research question 2, the overall average of the pupils had results of 29 out of a total

of 57. Finally, the demographic profile of parent in terms of educational attainment

earned a chi - square of 5. 04 and a p - value of.99 but the economic status received a

chi - square of 11.97 and a p - value of .74 and was classified as not significant.

Conclusions

In conclusion, this study aimed to investigate the relationship between

demographic profile of parents and it’s effect the academic performance of the students.

However, because the findings of this study did not produce statistically significant

results, the findings imply that, within the limitations of this study, there is no strong

evidence to support a direct relationship between parental economic status or education

level and students' academic performance.

Recommendations

Based on the conclusions made, the following are hereby recommended:

1. Students may essential to approach this information with an open mind and

avoid making assumptions or stereotypes about your own abilities,

2. Teachers, may recognize that the students come from diverse backgrounds,

and their academic performance can be influenced by various factors, including parental

behaviour;

3 .Parents, may encourage and support their child’s learning by providing a quiet

study space, realistic goals, and maintaining positive attitude towards their educational

endeavors.

4. To the future researchers, this study can be the basis as related to the

concentration of their future study. It can be used as source of references.
