 Common FAQs
1. What happens at the end of the year when I meet all my progression requirements?
You will receive your results and progression outcome from the Progression Support Team at the end of your programme. Immediately after
this, you will also receive your Unconditional Offer letter from the University Admissions Team. This letter has all the information you need
regarding how to apply for your new Visa and how to register for your undergraduate or postgraduate programme at the University.

2. What happens if I don’t meet the exact progression requirements for my first choice?
You will have the opportunity to take one reassessment for your Semester 1 assessments in each module and one reassessment for your
Semester 2 assessments in each module. If after the reassessments you still don’t meet all the progression requirements for your first-choice
degree, your case will be presented to the University at a clearing meeting for your first-choice degree and for your second-choice degree. If
your scores are within clearing range, the University will consider accepting you. This usually happens for courses, which have available
places.

3. What happens if I fail my Foundation or Pre-Masters programme? Will I be able to re-do the Foundation or Pre-
Masters at USIC?
You can repeat your Foundation or Pre-Masters programme at USIC or another Study Group ISC if you re-apply for the course with a valid
reason (health issues, personal issues etc.) and the relevant College/ISC Director accepts you.

4. What happens if I pass my Foundation or Pre-Masters, but my scores are too low for Sheffield, and I am unable to
progress to my first and second choice?
Study Group has a special Network Clearance Team who support students in this situation. They can help students to progress to a Study
Group partner university to start an undergraduate or postgraduate programme, to start and IY1 programme or repeat the IFY or PMP
programme. The Progression Support Team at the College will deliver a workshop to students about alternative options and refer students
to the Network Clearance Team.

5. Can all students go for booster classes, or just those that are weak in the subject?
Booster classes are organised only for those students who need support in certain subject areas. The relevant subject tutors invite students to
these classes based on their scores. These usually are scheduled a few weeks before reassessments and help students to improve their
knowledge and prepare
