❖ INPUT AND OUTPUT DEVICES

▪ INPUT DEVICE:
In computing, an input
device is computer hardware which is used to enter data
for processing.
Some of input devices are,
1. Keyboard
2. Mouse
3. Digital camera
4. Microphone
5. Scanner

• KEYBOARD:
Keyboard is an input device which is
used to input data to the computer. The layout of computer
is like a typewriter, there are some keys for performing
additional functions. It is connected to a computer using
USB or Bluetooth. The keys are alphabetic keys, character
keys, number key and function key.

• MOUSE:
Mouse is a hand-held pointing device which is
used to move cursor on computer screen to point corresponding
object using its buttons. The left button is used to icons and right
button is used to display menus, it usually kept on a mouse pad
because it moves well on a smooth surface.

• DIGITAL CAMERA:
Digital camera is an input device which is
used to capture photos, and videos and store it in memory card. It
is hand-held device which is small in size. It has an LCD screen
that allow users to preview or review images, it takes less space.

• MICROPHONE:
Microphone is an input device which allow its user
to input voice in computer. It receives voice as analog and must be
translate in digital form. It converts information in human readable
form.Digital form can be used to add sound in presentation, voice
recording, and game application.

• SCANNER:
Scanner is an input device which is used to scan
images or text and convert in digital form. When we place any
piece of document on a scanner it converts it in digital form and
display on computer screen.

▪ OUTPUT DEVICES:
A piece of computer
hardware known as an output device receives data from a
computer and converts it into another from. This from could be
hard copy, like a printer document, audio, visual, or text.
Some of output devices are:
1. Monitors
2. Printers
3. Sound card
4. Projector
5. Video card

• MONITOR:
An output device shows information in text or
graphics from is a computer monitor. A discrete monitor consists
of an external user control panel, a visual display, support circuity
a power supply and enclose.

• PRINTERS:
A printer is an external hardware output
devices that takes the electronic data stored on a computer or
other devices and generates a hard copy.

• SOUND CARD: A sound
card is an internal expansion card that provides input and
output of audio signals to and from a computer under the
control of computer programs. `
• PROJECTOR:
A projector is an output device that takes
images generated by a computer or blue-ray player and reproduce
them by projection onto a screen wall or another surface.

• VIDEO CARD:
A video card is an expansion card that
connects to a computer motherboard. It is used to create a
picture on a display; without a video card you would not be able
to see this page. Video cards are used by gamers in place of
integrated graphics due to their extra processing power and
video ram.
