that accepts data, performs operations on that
data, presents the results, and stores the data
or result as needed.
• It is a fast calculating electronic device which
performs input process, output and storage
operations. It consist of Hardware and

MONITOR
A monitor is an
electronic device used to
display video output from a
computer. Screen monitors are
used in many computer
devices, from personal
computers (PCs) and laptops to
small mobile devices, such as
cell phones and MP3 players.
Monitors are also known as
computer screens or display
screens.
 CPU
Central Processing Unit

•It is the heart and brain of a

computer.

•It is the portion of

a computer that retrieves and
executes instructions.
 KEYBOARD

A computer keyboard is an input device used to

enter characters and functions into the computer
system by pressing buttons, or keys. It is the primary
device used to enter text. A keyboard typically contains
keys for individual letters, numbers and special
characters, as well as keys for specific functions.
 MOUSE
A computer mouse is a
handheld hardware input
device that controls the cursor
in a GUI and can move and
select text, icons, files, and
folders. For desktop computers,
the mouse is placed on a flat
surface such as a mouse pad or
table and placed in front of your
computer.
 PRINTER
A printer is an external
device whose primary function
is to replicate a digital form of
data into a printed media. The
digital data could be either
textual or graphical, whereas
the printed media could be a
sheet, flex, or a cloth. The
prime function of a printer is to
print- be it a presentation,
assignment, report, photos, or
brochures, printers give wings
to all kinds of creative activities
as well as essential work. 
 SPEAKER
A computer speaker is
an output hardware
device that connects to a
computer to generate
sound. The signal used to
produce the sound that
comes from a computer
speaker is created by the
computer's sound card.
 SCANNER
A scanner is a device
usually connected to
a computer. Its main
function is to scan or
take a picture of the
document, digitize
the information and
present it on the
computer screen.
HEADPHONE
Sometimes referred to as
earphones, headphones
are a hardware output
device that plug into a
computer line out or
speakers port.
Headphones allow you to
listen to audio or watch a
movie without disturbing
people around you.
