RELATIVES of a young Chinese businessman murdered 15 years ago have pleaded for information to finally bring his killers to justice. Simon Tang was beaten and robbed as he left his takeaway business in Carrickfergus on June 24, 1996. Members of the local Chinese community are aiming to raise 15,000 to offer as a reward for information leading to the capture of the killers of the father of two. See page 3

Plea to find Disappeared

THE top investigator searching for the seven final victims of the Disappeared appealed last night for the publics help to bring closure to families. It was ruled yesterday at an inquest that Crossmaglen men Charlie Armstrong and Gerard Evans, who had been missing for 30 years, died by unlawful killing by a paramilitary organisation. Both sets of remains were located last year following tip-offs. See page 11

TOM Elliott has said that he feels sore about having to face an Orange Order disciplinary panel to explain attending a slain police officers funeral. In an interview with the News

Letter to mark his first year as Ulster Unionist leader, Mr Elliott said that the hardline Orangemen in a Sandy Row Orange lodge who complained about him have shifted the spotlight off the dissident republicans who murdered Ronan Kerr. The complainants alleged that Mr Elliot and UUP minister

Danny Kennedy had sold their principles for political expediency by attending the officers funeral. Mr Elliott said that the institution may now need to reexamine its rules, which some Orangemen believe bar them from attending Roman Catholic funerals.

He said: I have to say that I feel it a bit sore at the moment in that it almost appears that its Danny Kennedy and I that are on trial whereas the people who murdered Ronan Kerr are nowhere to be mentioned in this. See pages 8 & 9
