August Assignment

Research a country and prepare a country profile.

You will be given a country to research and will then prepare a profile which you will present
to your classmates. Before you share your information with others, you will show your
written preparation to the teacher. Your mark will be determined based on both preparation
and presentation of your topic.

SUGGESTIONS:

Start with some basic information, such as location/neighbouring countries, population, area,
climate, capital city, currency.

Other things to consider:

 Major cities, rivers, lakes, mountains etc.

 Major religions, languages
 Major industries, natural resources, tourist attractions
 Education, health, life expectancy
 Type of government, current leader(s)
 Food and beverage (both produced and consumed)
 Flag
 Some key dates in history. (Independence, wars, memorable events)

Simply put, learn as much about the country as you can and then be prepared to share that
knowledge with your classmates.
