Think about this before you begin!

Colombia is known for its natural resources, modern cities, and a diverse
culture, however some of the social problems in the country are:
(Crime/delinquency, poverty, corruption, unemployment, discrimination,
displacement, drug addiction and pollution. Do you think Colombia is a
good country to live in? What things in this society would you like to
change?

Colombia is a beautiful place to live, this country is full of colors, flavors, and
traditions, in Colombia people are friendly and fun. We are characterized by our
joy and our cultural festivals. Many things have to be changed in Colombia,
despite being a beautiful country, there are reasons in which it makes us see
the world as a dangerous country, if there is something to change it would be
war for peace, change drugs for more education and what our government is
accountable to its people.

Creating a utopian society

Task description: Imagine you've just found uninhabited Island where you
can built your ideal country, you can start a whole world fresh and be
whatever you want it to be.

1. Give a name to the country. These are some words which can help
you. Land, world, kingdom, island, peninsula, republic of... (Be
creative!)

My island is called republic of sodomy

2. Describe its geography: cities, buildings, (school, airport, bank,

hotel...) Geographical features (beaches, mountains, rivers...).

the republic of sodomy is an island with 3 cities of small red brick buildings,
there are many schools that have everything you need and it is spacious so that
your students have the best education, we have 2 airports which handle flights
to all over the world planet, we have a solid financial structure in the economy
and our banks are efficient, our hotels are beautiful and very luxurious, they are
in strategic places for our tourists and our inhabitants, the geography is not the
best since being an island there is little land to grow our food but we help
ourselves with imports from different countries, our beaches are characterized
by being one of the most beautiful in the world and have a great diversity of
marine life, the mountains are rocky and jungle there are many animals and
trees which are attractive tourist, we have many rivers which supply us with
water and provide us with many resources for the entire republic of sodomy.

3. What's the weather like in your country? (Speak about it)

Our climate, being on a coast, is warm, essential for the summer since many
foreigners visit our island for vacations, this climate helps us for the different
nautical events that take place on the island and there is also rainy weather in
the winter that helps us for crops and to nourish the mountains and forests.

4. What kind of government does your country have? Make three laws in
order to describe what your citizens have the right to do and what they are
not allowed to do

In our country there is a democratic government in which its people can elect
their leader every four years, there are 3 things that can be done as a citizen's
right, the first is to have free expression, and the second is the right to life, and
the third to have the right to housing and education.

And there are three fundamental things that cannot be done: the first attempt on
the life of another person, the second not stealing and the third not wanting to
comply with road laws.

5. Describe your citizents:

- How many peple live in your country?

Two million people live in our country

- How people dress? (Casual, formal, traditional, narrow, baggy,

colourfull, plain...clothes)

In our country there is a lot of diversity of races of people, in general, people

dress in various ways, for example. Casual, formal, colorful or simple
- What language do they speak?

The native language of our country is Spanish.

- Which means of transport do they use?

To transport us in the cities of the island, different methods of transport are

used, such as bicycles, motorcycles, cars, buses and cable cars.

6. Describe the life in your country:

- What do people do in their free time?

In their free time, people can do many things such as going to the parks,
to the sea, to attraction games, to ride horses, touring the beaches or
exercising in community gyms.

- Which sports do they like?

We like sports like swimming, playing soccer, volleyball, baseball, and

athletics

- What music do they listen to?

We listen to all kinds of music such as vallenato, tropical music, salsa,

merengue, and bachata.

- Which is the typical food?

Our typical food is coconut rice, fried fish, and avocado salad, also
chicken soups, and spaghetti

- When do they celebrate their festivities and what do they do?

Our cultural festivities are celebrated in the month of October from the
seventh to the tenth of October where there are water games, parades,
dances, and where there is a lot of music and colors, as well as concerts
with local and foreign artists.
- Which holidays do they enjoy?

In our country, in addition to having many holidays, we have 3 vacations,

one at the beginning of the year that goes from January 5 to January 12,
also in the middle of the year that goes from June 10 to June 23, and
those at the end of the year that they go from December 20 to December
31

B. Organize your thoughts and answer questions 1-6. Use the future
simple ( Will and going to).

C. Design between six or seven PowerPoint slides to present your

own utopia. (Slides must include visual aids such as: photos or
pictures and key words. Avoid using too much text.

D. Record a 5-6 minutes video in which you appear speaking and

presenting the information. Once you finish recording the video,
create a URL link for the video and paste it on the Powerpoint
Presentation.

About the video:

- Use Microsoft Teams. (Different platforms are optional)
- keep your your camara on during the video.
- Check your pronounciation in advance.
- Greet
- Avoid reading your information.
- The video should last 5-6 minutes as a minimum ( The maximum is
up to you)
_Make sure you include a cover page with your name and upload it
to the platform.
