1. Talk about your best friend

My best friend is Thi, she is my classmate in the University.
She is a beautiful girl with a slim build and a fair complexion (da). She has long black hairs
and an attractive oval face with big brown eyes and red lips, which are always smiling. She is
simple, friensly and kind to everybody. She is also very sweets, she never gets angry with her
husband and children. She works very hard and look after her family carefully. We often phone to
each other to talk out work, family
2. Talk about the traffic problems in our city and how to solve them
HCM city the biggest city in VN. It has a population of 7 million with over 3 million vehicles
of all kinds. Moreover, the streets are narrow and in bad condition. Worse still, many people disobey
the traffic regulations. Consequently, there are many traffic accidents, which kill and injure
hundreds of people every month. Every day, there are at least two or three traffic jams at some
junctions in our city during rush hours.
To solve the above problems, I suggest some solutions: streets repaired and widened;
encourage city-dwellers to use public transport; the city people should be educated to obey the
traffic rules.
3. Talk about your hobbies
My hobbies are listening to music and watching televison. I am very fond of music. When I
am free, I often listen to my favourite songs from an cassette recorder. At weekends, I usually go to
music shops to buy good CDs. Of the famous pop singers, I prefer Madonna, Preatney Spears.
I also spend an hour after dinner watching news on television
I think that my hobbies are very useful. They widen my knowledge, relax my mind and make
me feel better about myself.
4. What are the causes of air pollution in our big cities? What should we do to reduce air
pollution?
Air has been polluted by gases emitted (thi) from car exhausts (ng b) and from factory
chimneys (ng khi)
To reduce air pollution, we should:
Encourage people to use public transport such as public buses
Remove some of the factories in the city center to suburbs
Deforestation must be completely forbidden and we should grow many trees.
5. Talk about advantages and disadvantages of the Internet? What should we do to reduce
the disadvantages?

The internet is a wonderful source of information which enables the user to communicate with
the whole world.
Using internet, we can quickly find the information we need in all fields such as science,
literature, art..we can also use the internet to watch films, listen to music or talk to a person who is
living thousands of miles away.
However the internet also has its disadvantages. Some people take advantage of the internet to
deceive others or to issue untrue or malicious information for their own bad purpose. It is also a
source of depraved films and pictures, which may damage our younger generation.
To avoid negative side effects, the usage of the internet should be careful controlled by the
authorities.
6. Where do you prefer to live? City or country? Why?
I prefer to live in the country because I can enjoy the fresh air, the peaceful atmosphere and the
beautiful landcape which help to relax my mind. The people in the country is honesty and kindness,
they are always good neighbours.
Roads in the country are not crowed and havent traffic jam
I havent to suffer from air pollution and noise pollution, which are very harmful to my health.
7. Why are young people attracted to cities?
Life in the city is more convenient than in the countryside. In the city, the houses are supplied
with electricity and drinking-water. People go from place to place very quicky by motorbite, by bus
or by taxi. People can buy everything they need in shops and supermarkets everywhere. There are so
many interesting things to see and do. There are many places to visit such as museums, parks, zoo ..
For entertainment, people can go to theatres, movie and amusement centres. There are a lot of
theatrers whith the latest movies and plays. They easier to find a job and earn more money than in
the countryside. They can attend educational institutions which are open till late in the night to
advance in their careers.
8. Which job do you like best? Why?
At present Im a civil servant but I love to become a doctor because some reasons:
First, society respect the doctor because he treat disease as he can regain life to many patients.
Second, the doctor earn a lot of money with work in hospital and clinic open. Health is golden,
no one sick without a doctor.
Third, if I were a doctor, I could care best for my familys health. I dont spend a lot of money
to go to the doctor.
9. Why is it necessary to learn English?
English is the most international of languages. It is spoken as a native language in many
country such as: US, Britain, Australia, New Zealan, most of CanadaIt is also used as a second

and foreign language by 700 million people in the world. To many people English is an important
language to master because it is a gateway to world scholarship and international trade. English
complete our higher education.
10. Which sport are you interested in? why?
* There are many kind of sports such as: football, basketball, tennis, table tennis,..they are all
attractive and usefull but my favorite sport is badminton (cu lng). Because some reasons:
It is a vary simple and easy to play. People of all ages play it at any time, in any place from
town to the country.
It is not so tiring as football or long race, it is not dangerous as basketball or pole jump.
Badminton helps me to improve health of the body, while playing badminton you need to

11. Why shouldnt we smoke?
Smoking is the main cause of lung cancer. It also causes stomach-ache, heart diseases and
mental troubles. Every year, there are thousands of people die of smoking-related diseases. Smoking
does not only harm the smoker, it also endangers those who inhale cigarette smoke. The children of
parents who smoke a great deal may become less intelligent and less healthy.
Because of above reasons, we shouldnt smoking.
12. Whats your favourite television programme?
Of all the TV programmmes, I like the news programme best. The news programmes shown
on TV channel at 7 p.m help me to know almost everything about different places in our country
and important events happening all over the world. I know about the main national and international
sporting events. I also know about weather.
13. What are your favourite types of food and drink?
I like to eat meat, vegetables and fruit. Eating meat is not good for health, but I prefer to eat
meat than fish or seafood. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, they are good for health. I like to drink
water and fruit juice. I can not drink coffee because it makes me insomnia. I hate carbonated soft
drinks.
