Educational endowments as a source of funding for education in Islamic history and


suggestions for benefiting from it.
Abstract:
The aim of the research is to study the diversity of educational endowments in Islamic history, the degree of
their contribution to society, and the positive effects of educational endowments as a source of funding for
education in Islamic history. In order to benefit from the financing of education in the present age.
The historical approach has been used and the results of the research that the educational endowments in
Islamic history was characterized by diversity according to the needs of education in each era of history, It
varied between the establishment of educational buildings, student services, school supplies, teachers' salaries
and incentives, the creation of a school environment and equipment, libraries, and scientific research centers.
The contribution of the community in these endowments to a large extent, beyond the upper class of society to
the middle class, these educational endowments also had a great positive impact on education, Including
equality of opportunity and social justice, quantitative and qualitative expansion of education, diversification
of education types and levels, support for authoring, translation and scientific research, Achieving financial
and administrative independence of educational institutions, and continuing appropriate funding for
educational institutions to carry out their mission.
The study concluded the importance of benefiting from the diversity of educational endowments in our time
by creating new types of educational endowments that meet the needs of education and future aspirations,
and encourage businessmen to stop the funds in the educational endowments, and the adoption of large
awareness campaigns involving the media, scientists, preachers to identify the educational endowments and
show their virtue.
