Introduction
Social Media Usage and Exposure to the Interpersonal Relationships of Sapang National High School
students

An internet phenomena known as social media. Social media is a collective term for websites and
applications that focus on communication, community-based input, interaction, content-sharing and
collaboration.

It connects people from all around the world through several online platforms. In the past several
years, it has grown significantly, with billions of people now actively utilizing social media sites like
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, and Snapchat to communicate with friends, family, and even
complete strangers

Social media is being used by more students in Sapang National High School students for
communication, information collecting, and entertainment, becoming increasingly common in their daily
lives. Interpersonal interactions have significantly changed as a result of the expansion and
generalization of social media platforms. Students in Sapang are using social media for communication,
information gathering, and enjoyment is becoming more and more ingrained in their daily lives. Thanks
to the technological advancement. Students are now more able to interact with one another in creative
and new ways, allowing them to create relationships that they otherwise would not have been able to
do without the help of social media.

This study initiatives to investigate how social media use affects students’ interpersonal connections. It
will look at how social media use affects how students communicate with one another and how it affects
their general social lives. Additionally, this research will examine how students’ use of social media
impacts how they view and relate to their peers as well as how it could affect their general mental
health. Finally, this study will consider different ways to assist students in better controlling their use of
social media and exposure to interpersonal interactions.

On the other side, social media has the ability to damage interpersonal relationships. It is simpler to
interact with a greater range of people, including those who have different cultural origins, religious
beliefs, and ethical ideals, when one may connect with people anywhere in the world. This could lead to
misunderstandings and a lack of respect for the emotions of others one deals with. However, social
media can also have a negative effect on interpersonal relationships. The simplicity of keeping links with
individuals all over the world allows for access to more types of people with whom one can interact,
including those with varied cultural origins, opinions, and values.

Interpersonal relationship refers to the social connections, interactions, and relationships that
individuals have with others. It involves understanding and managing different social skills such as
communication, empathy, and conflict resolution to build positive and productive relationships with
others.
