ABSTRACT
Previous Tracer studies about STEM graduates found that 23.1% of STEM graduates
are taking up Bachelor’s Degrees in Nursing, 11.4% in Civil Engineering, 9.4% in
Architecture, 8.2% in Electrical Engineering, and 5.8% in Information Technology. The
courses that were not aligned to STEM included Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration, 6.7% in Economics and Philosophy, and 5.3% in Entrepreneurship and
Journalism. Reasons for not taking STEM courses included 65 graduates finding their
current course interesting, 13 graduates enrolled in their dream course, 11 students
taking their course because it is a prerequisite to their dream course, 9 students
selecting their course due to parent’s influence, 3 students choosing their course due to
peer influence, and late realization. The Tracer study found that graduates would have
been of legal age without having to quit studying, gender equality in the study region is
evidenced by the fact that there are as many female graduates as there are male
graduates. The study will help STEM graduates determine their current educational
development and help the Senior High School Department determine if the existing
educational approach should be retained or changed in order to better suit the
requirements and capacities of the pupils. This tracer study is to determine the
statehood of the students from the Senior High School program from The University of
San Agustin in STEM strand in the year 2017-2018, therefore, it will answer questions
that previous studies have not. The participants involved in this study are the STEM 12
Graduates of 12 2017-2018. Specifically the sections of STEM 12 J, K and L. The
researchers will provide the respondents a survey questionnaire that will determine their
chosen exits, their employment status, and their minimum wages (if they decided to
pursue a career or business right after graduation). The findings revealed that most
graduates were female, aged 23-24, and graduated with honors. The majority pursued
higher education, entrepreneurship, or employment, with STEM-related courses being
the most popular. The findings of this study suggest that the USA SHS program in
STEM provides quality education and prepares graduates for future opportunities. The
study's results can provide valuable insights into the career paths of STEM graduates.
