-carotene (Pro-vitamin A) 1% Powder

Description: Altratene 1% WSC is a fine orange powder containing 1% β-carotene E160a(i). The β-
carotene is encapsulated in a matrix of gum Arabic, sunflower oil, maltodextrin, sucrose,
water, ascorbyl palmitate and dl-α-tocopherol. The β-carotene meets the latest editions of
USP, FCC, Ph.Eur. and EU Regulation No. 231/2012 of 9. March 2012.

Dispersibility: Altratene 1% WSC is dispersible in cold water, yielding yellow to orange colorations. A stock
solution can be prepared by slowly adding the desired amount of powder to 10 - 100 times
its weight of warm or cold water while stirring.

Storage and stability: Altratene 1% WSC is sensitive to air, humidity, light and heat. The shelf life of the product is
48 months when stored in the unopened original packaging at ambient temperature (max.
25℃) in a dry place. The effective date is stated on the label. Contents should be used
immediately after opening.

Use: As a colorant and a source of Vitamin A for food, dietary supplement and pharmaceutical
products.

Others: Altratene 1% WSC is free from egg & egg derivatives, milk products, animal products, fish &
shellfish products, peanuts, tree nut products, sesame seeds, barley, wheat & wheat
derivatives, rye, oats, soya & soya derivatives, garlic, celery, yeast products, natural
flavourings, artificial flavourings, benzoates, BHA/BHT, sulphites, MSG/glutamates and
tartrazine (Yellow # 5).
