The document discusses why OTT series are becoming more popular than daily Indian soap operas. It states that the content quality of daily soaps has deteriorated over time, as stories are stretched out just to increase viewership by showing clips from previous episodes. In contrast, OTT series on platforms like Netflix and Prime have fewer episodes but maintain high quality, trending content that attracts younger viewers. While some daily soaps are good, most just drag out episodes even when viewers are no longer interested. OTT audiences want more episodes of the quality shows but don't always get them.

Good Morning, Respected Principal Ma’am, teachers, and my dear
friends. Today, I, Pawani Arora, a student of class XI-B1 going to speak on ‘Why OTT series is taking over daily Indian soaps?’ There used to be a time when not only adults but children too used to gather around the tv to watch soaps together like Ramayan and Mahabharat but nowadays people prefer ott platforms like Netflix, prime, etc. because over time the content of the daily soaps has deteriorated a lot. The soaps usually air with a good motive and story but with time they tend to lose the motive along with the story, the story is stretched just for the sake of viewership and most of the episodes just show the clips of the previous episode to extend its time-lapse, plus, most of the shows follow the same storyline but with different actors which shows the lack of creativity but this is different when it comes to ott series, they usually have very fewer episodes in comparison and don’t unnecessarily extend the time, they show quality and trending content which attracts the viewership, especially young generations and they are usually target audience. In the end, I want to say that not every daily soap is bad, some are actually really good and follow great and entertaining storyline which engages the viewers but most of them are just not it. The irony is that the ott audience wants more episodes but doesn’t get it but the soaps just drag the episodes even when no one wants it to.
