WHO WE ARE

Salt and light ministries Uganda is Diverse, Gospel-Formed Family of Servant Missionaries with
its office located on Plot 21, Solot Avenue Soroti City East. Salt and Light Ministries began its
operation in Gulu city in February 2022.
At SLM, the gospel forms and shapes who we are and what we do. The grace of God transforms
everything. We want to participate in God’s work of making one family from every tribe. The
diversity in Gulu city is rapidly increasing and we aim to be a ministry for anyone that longs to
know Jesus. Jesus paid our adoption price with his life and we are adopted into the Family of God.
With this adoption came a new name, a new identity, and a new mission. Like Jesus, we are here
not to be served, but to serve. And, just as the Father sent Jesus on a rescue mission to redeem
sinners, we live as a sent people. The redeemed are sent out into our city, our neighborhoods, our
families, our workplaces, and our community to make disciples through the everyday stuff of life to
redeem and restore the world around us.

Mission
Our mission is to make, mature, and multiply disciples of Jesus Christ in Gulu city and beyond.
Here is what that means:
1. We want to come alongside people and help them become disciples who love and follow Jesus.
2. We want to help people grow and mature in their faith.
3. We want to see people sent out on missions into the neighborhoods where they live.

Position Summary:
The Evangelism & Outreach Coordinator functions by providing Biblical leadership in the area of
evangelism and Discipleship. Working with and under the direction of the Director Salt and Light
Ministries. His main focus is on carrying out the Great Commission through Gospel outreaches to the lost
and Discipleship of new believers.

Personal Qualifications:
● Committed Christ-follower who feels a call by God into ministry
● Strong passion and desire to help the surrounding community and the unchurched encounter
 and grow in Christ
● Active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude and
behavior.

● Thriving prayer life

Job Qualifications:
● Previous experience in evangelism OR outreach ministry (paid or volunteer)
● Ability to share faith, testimony and scripture with others in order to evangelize as well as train
others to do so.

● Married men are preferred but not a requirement.

Responsibilities:
● Assist in oversight of evangelistic ministries including but not limited to outreach, special
evangelism events, missions, etc.
● Create culture, environments and training to facilitate evangelism
● Fully embraces the mission, vision and values of Salt and Light Ministries.
● Must be reliable, self-motivated and take initiative.
● Embrace and adapt to growth, change, innovation and creativity.
● Possess an attitude of servant leadership.
● Model the call, character and competencies of becoming a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Essential Functions:
● EVANGELIZING: this person will evangelize in various ways in the community
● EQUIPPING OTHERS to EVANGELIZE: he will train and equip others to evangelize in their spheres
of influence
● COMMUNITY OUTREACH: this position will lead and help coordinate a plan for reaching out with
the Gospel in meaningful ways to our community.
