INTRODUCTION
While framing a curriculum we have to fulfill many criteria.
Curriculum must be according to the content that we already
learn or the topics that reflect the society
MEANING OF CURRICULUM CONTENT

• Curriculum content simply means the totality what is to be taught in


a school system
• The content component of teaching learning situation refers to the
important facts, principles and concept to be taught
PROBLEMS IN THE SELECTION OF CURRICULUM
CONTENT
• Framing a new curriculum for school education is a challenging task
• Selecting the content of the curriculum the priorities to be given,
our assumptions about what constitutes a good Education
• And the new society we visualize through children by their
education,are spelt out
• According to disciplines in terms of main subjects as well framing
the curriculum with interrelated subjects
• Hence in organizing the curriculum content following the inter
disciplinary approach is the best method
TWO PROBLEMS

1. To protect the scope and specificity of the educational disciplines


2. Accept dilution of the power of the curriculum by following inter
disciplinary approach
ORGANIZING CURRICULUM CONTENT BASED ON
EXPERIENCE OF CHILDREN THEIR NATURAL CURIOSITIES
COMMUNITY ENVIRONMENT AND THE SPECIFICITIES OF
SUBJECT
1. The ideal education
one which not only care for the community in which one live,but also
which produces knowledgeable and responsible citizens
2. Environmental-inquiry approach
• Giving importance to children’s experiences
• Providing opportunities to express thire natural curiosities
• Making students to evince interest to understand change and improve
the prevailing community environment
• Developing in students the relevant knowledge
3. Objective based learning
4.Developing creativity
5. Show concern and care in eradicating social issues
6. Nurturing the natural interest
7. Community based personal identies like gender,religion,cast and class
8.Manually share their social experiences and discuss about them with
their friends and family members
9. Improving their language skill

11.Provide appropriate educational activities
12.Specificity of the subject should be Preserved

• Curriculum should be so framed to facilitate every educational


institution be willing to lend its ears to hear the demands of the
society
