SAK'fHI GROUP is a leading conglomerate in south India .motivated by a keen desire for
diversification in new areas of business, the sakthi group was born and grew as a powerful
entity, expanding its interest into various spheres of industry.

P. Nachimuthu Gounder, a farmer with a difference owned a few bullock carts that he

hired out, could feel the pulse of the people and made revolutionary changes. Instinctively
sensing the need of the time, he created history in 1921, by commissioning a taxi service for
the first time in the little known village of pollachi.

In 1927, came the next milestone, the first but was added to the taxi service. The success
of his venture led to the establishment of the Anamallais Bus Transport Company, the parent
of the sakthi group, in 1931. The switch over from traditional bullock carts to the modern
automobile brought a transformation in the life of the people in the interior rural areas. The
success _of this pioneering bus transport venture heralded the beginning of the sakthi group in
the later years .. his business ventures gained new impetus in 1943 when his only son
DR.N.Mahalingam, joined him and paved the establishment and growth oh the sakthi group.

SIYAGANGAI UNIT:

The second unit of sakthi sugar was established in 1989 in the district of sivagangai at
jothinagar, padamathur p.o, sivagangai Taluk, Tamil nadu under the vice chairman &
managing director sri.M.MANICKAM.

As a J)art of the company's expansion plans, the unit has a crushing capacity of 4000 TCD
tones ·of sugar cane per day. This is the one of the most modern sugar factory in India with
auto setting mills and computer aided controls for the operation of boilers and other
equipments so as achieve a high degree of efficiency.

It benefits 20000 small and marginal fanners and provides direct employment for 500 people
and indirect employment opportunities for over 7000. The unique employment in this plant is
low man power high rater capacity and best pollution management, through full utilization of
available resources.
