Subject: Statement on NBI Raid Incident dated May 31, 2022

At around 15:00 hours, I started my site inspection on 2nd floor ILAB clinic when I heard
that NBI agents were already stormed inside the building. I immediately reported it to
my superior - Engr. Rofel Cariño and asked for his advice on what to do. He said that I
should stay first on the area for safety reasons. Exactly 15:18 hours, I asked permission
to Sir Rofel, If I can go back to our office on 3rd floor. He said that it was safe to proceed
so I did it. After several minutes, two (2) NBI Personnel which is escorted by the OIC
and SIC of the building came to our office. We were asked by the NBI on who was in-
charge of the elevator operations because, they said that all elevators were turned off
when they came in. They said that we’re obstructing their operations that time. They
get our ID and took a picture of it. We explained to them that we don’t have any control
room inside the building that can override its operation. We also discuss how we
operate the elevators in our stay in setup. We showed them and demo how the elevator
works and why lantern lights turned off when the operation is in manual mode, which
they are referring to as “shutdown”. They accepted our explanation and proceed with
their ongoing operation.
