Case Study - Tikari Delivery Point
Case Study - Tikari Delivery Point
It was October 2016 when the Tikari Sub Centre was inaugurated marking the first Delivery point
established by Project Samuday. Started with the idea of bridging the gap between accessibility of
quality healthcare and delivery services to the community.
In the initial years of Samuday project, barrier analysis of Kachauna gave a picture of gaps for the
various interventions that could be worked upon. In contrast to the NRHM guidelines there was just
one Delivery point, the CHC, that too overloaded with deliveries and OPDs. As a result, more
number of home deliveries was a common scenario in Kachauna. Hence, establishment of four
delivery points at four different zones as per population distribution along with refurbishment of
CHC was decided.
Today Savitri works as a positive deviant and support the FLWs of her
village community helping in motivating and promoting institutional
delivery through Group meetings and Interpersonal communications
with pregnant females in her village resulting into improved health
indicators of Tikari.
