Science Skit: Garden Habitat

Tree (DHRUV): This is such a beauti ful garden. I can grow

and stay happily here. But now I am feeling hungry!!!

Tree(DHRUV) to Soil(PRATHAM): oh dear soil, I need food

to become strong and grow big.

Soil(PRATHAM) to Tree(DHRUV): Yes, Sure. I play a very

important role in creati ng a healthy habitat for plants and
animals. I provide a home for many benefi cial organisms like
earthworms, insects and bacteria. I will also keep you
hydrated by giving you water.

Tree(DHRUV) to soil(PRATHAM): Wow, how are you so rich

in minerals and nutrients?

Soil(PRATHAM): Well, I am made up of diff erent layers called

horizons. Each horizon has diff erent nutrients, minerals and
qualiti es that support the plants and trees to grow strong
and healthy.

Tree(DHRUV): With all the nutriti onal food from you, rain
water and sun light I am now big and strong.

Bird(PRESHA): I am so ti red in this bright sunny day!! let

me take some rest and make my shelter.

Bird(PRESHA) to Tree(DHRUV): Hi tree, you are so big and

strong, can I make my nest on you?

Tree(DHRUV) to Bird(PRESHA): Yes, dear bird, why not? Let

me introduce you to my friend who can help you build your
nest.

Tree(DHRUV) to Twig(PARAM): Hey Twig, this is bird and she

needs your help.
Twig(PARAM) to Bird(PRESHA): My twigs will help you to
shape your new dwelling. They will not only safeguard
you & your family from danger but also provide a
comfortable environment to cherish your family

Bird(PRESHA) to Twig(PARAM): Thank you tree and Twig for

helping me making my home. Let me build my nest.

Twig(PARAM) to Bird(PRESHA): Excellent job dear bird
your creati vity and hardwork has made my objecti ve of
existence so meaningful. Infact I should thank you for
augmenti ng my life from being a small twig to becoming a
beauti ful nest.

Bee(AVIK): buzz buzz !! What a beauti ful day. In the garden

the fl owers are in full bloom
Buzz buzz !! Wow!! they look so beauti ful and full of nectar I
can’t wait to start collecti ng pollen.

Bee(AVIK) to Tree(DHRUV): Hello Tree, your fl owers are so

beauti ful, can I have nectar and collect pollen from your
fl owers?

Tree(DHRUV) to Bee(AVIK): Hello Bee, sure you can. What

will you do with the nectar and pollen?

Bee(AVIK): We spread pollen from plant to plant, so that

more trees and fl owers can grow that is called pollinati on.
The hard work of our colony of bees will contribute to the
cycle of life and help the garden thrive. Also we collect
nectar in our beehives and produce honey.

Tree(DHRUV) to Bee(AVIK): That’s wonderful Bee, thanks to

you lots of trees and fl owers are blooming all around and
thanks for the tasty yummy honey too.

Bee(AVIK) to Tree(DHRUV): Yes, tree and thanks to your

fl owers we are alive.
{Tree is shaking and all the other elements also start
shaking}

Soil(PRATHAM): Tree why are you shaking so much? Are

humans cutti ng you down? Cutti ng trees reduces our soil's
water holding capacity due to which water from the
rainfall collects on the surface and causes fl ood.

Bee(AVIK) - Yes when humans do deforestati on, we loose

our homes and family too.

Tree(DHRUV): No, it's just strong wind. Humans are our

friends now. They understand that we trees give them fresh
air, food, medicines, shelter and healthy environment to
live.

Bird(PRESHA)- Thank God fi nally these humans realized how

important our nature is for every one.

Twig(PARAM)-Thank you humans for creati ng this happy

habitat for us.

Soil(PRATHAM) - In a garden, oh so grand, A magical

habitat, hand in hand,

Bee(AVIK) - Where fl owers bloom, and creatures hide

Tree(DHRUV) - A place of wonder, where dreams abide

Bird(PRESHA) - Let's cherish our garden, big or small, And

protect this habitat for one and all

Twig(PARAM) - For in its beauty, we surely fi nd, A world of

harmony, so gentle and kind.
