Topic: Mobile phone should be allowed in the classroom by the teacher

Introduction:

Mobile phone is a major addiction of today’s time. However, the addiction of mobile phone
should be controlled as much as possible by the teacher. Teacher should not allow the use of mobile
phones in the classroom as they lead to distraction, can be used for negative purposes, and is cheating
resources. The mobile devices can create distraction in the classroom for all the learners.

Distraction and interruption:

There is little argument that mobile phones and other devices can be distracting
for students in classrooms, there is new research that shows using electronic devices in the classroom
can even lower students’ grades. When students use their cell phones to check social media and text
their friends in class, it leads to distraction for those students as well as their peers. Nearly 30% of the
students said they could use their cell phones without distracting from their learning. More than a
quarter of them said it was their choice if they wanted to use a cell phone while class was taking place.
This can cause disruption in class, particularly if the teacher is constantly telling students to turn their
devices off. Disrespecting the teacher by always looking at the cell phone screen. Disturbing other hard
working learners in the classroom.

A source of Cheating:

Cell phones can be helpful learning tool in class. But they can also be used by students to access
information while taking a test, leading to cheating. Texting is one of the fastest ways for students to get
answers to test questions from other students in the room, it’s become the modern equivalent of note
passing. Teens hide their mobile phones on their seats and text one another, looking down to view
responses while the teacher isn't paying attention. Some teens store notes for test time on their cell
phones and access these notes during class. As with texting, this is done on the sly, hiding the phone
from view. The internet offers other unusual tips for cheating with notes, too. Even if a student is not
caught, this can lead to him or her having a poor understanding of the material in the future, and is
unfair to students who studied hard to do well. Cheating at a future job could get them fired or it could
even lead to legal action. Cheating on a future partner could lead to the end of the relationship.

Conclusion:

To conclude, mobile phones, though an essential part of today’s life should be banned in the
classroom to avoid distraction, ill-means of its users, and above all to avoid cheating. Therefore, its
usage should be prohibited in the classroom to avoid further inconvenience to others and to oneself.
Using time between classes to do something productive and disconnecting from your phone at night is
what we recommend. That being said, whatever works best for you will be most effective.
