2. If 𝐸𝐵 =2.2 GPa is the bulk modulus of elasticity for water, what pressure is
required to reduce a volume by 0.6 percent?

3. Compare the capillary rise of water and mercury in a glass tube of 2 mm

diameter at 20° C. Given that the surface tension of water and mercury at 20°
C are 0.0736 N/m and 0.051N/m respectively. Contact angles of water and
mercury are 0° and 130° respectively. (ρ𝑤𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟 = 998 kg/m3; ρ𝐻𝑔 =13545 kg/m3)

4. An 18-kg slab slides down a 25° inclined plane on a 0.2-mm thick film of oil
with viscosity of 0.0814 Pa-sec. If the contact area is 0.3 𝑚2 , find the terminal
